I mean I am happy that koopa troopa is back and all, but why they got to diss the all american original?  And "secret character" status is a slap in the face.

Maybe there will be some unlockable characters, or there may be more than just the 16 we are shown.
SSBM had 25 characters so it should be possible to add more than just what we have been shown.

oh well, I would rather complain about where is this character or this weapon than be stuck complaining about when will this game ever come out.

I think theres onyl going to be 16 characters, with 8 karts per race just like all other mario karts.

I dunno. the game will support 8 players right (over a LAN). So what if you get stuck with peach or some other crappy character. there should be a larger selection so everyone can get to play the characters they like. Although Nintendo could have made it just two characters (Mr game and watch and pichu) and I would still buy it .

Yeah, I think there will be some secret characters.
Sonic might even be in it, just as Miyamoto suggested.
I don't see why Toad would be demoted to a secret character though. Maybe he just serves a different role in the game now. Maybe he hosts the game like in some of the Mario Party titles.

Good question, I've watched all the X-Men 2 trailers and there is no mention of Toad. Guess he didn't make the cut this time. Okay all jokes aside, Toad is probably in there. I'm pretty sure that Double Dash has some unlockable secret characters. I just wouldn't count on seeing Banjo and Conker in it.

You can pick the same character. In one of the screen shots, it shows koopa troopa in first and another koopa troopa in front of Mario.

Yeah, Toad is a great character (probably the best) and I am pretty sure Toad is Miyamoto's favorite when it comes to Mario Kart.  I don't see Toad getting dissed that easily out of the series.

yeah, especially since MICROSOFT now owns those characters! i find it amazing that some people still dont understand that nintendo no longer have the rights to use those characters
