I'd go to some of these events if I lived near Manhattan. Florida is a bit away, though. Nintendo could consider opening more Nintendo World Stores, I wouldn't see it as a bad thing, even if it was just in major metropolitan areas.
went to the GameStop launch of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I remember, and participated in the tournament. When it was time to check out, though, the line was massive and they were giving preorders special treatment, going as far as to say they might sell out of copies for those who didn't preorder. So... instead of waiting in a line to possibly not get the game, I walked five or six stores down to a 24-hour Wal-Mart, and bought the game there, instead. I'd imagine Nintendo plans these events, and stocks their shelves better, but I don't think GameStop even realizes how much money they use by trying to inflate their preorder numbers by forcing customers to preorder to get the game on day 1. It's weird.
Regardless, let us know on how the event goes... and if there's enough copies of the game for everyone!
