HAHAHA i forgot about Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer. Didn't he also do something as Frankenstein('s Monster)? I don't remember what the premise was, just him dressed up as Frank.

Man i miss him now.. especially on the Simpsons. So many hilarious characters gone.. :( At least his spirit carrys on in Futurama.

The show "Working" (Fred Savage) was hilarious, but only lasted a couple seasons.

Am I the only one who pretty much cannot stand to watch a show with a canned laugh track?
It's a huge turn off to me. :(

I guess I just learn to tune it out, though my two favorite comedies don't have one (The Simpsons and Futurama).

I used to watch that show. Favorite episode (or most memorable) was Office Syndrome.

Where you have an very average girl start become very attractive by working in close quarters with her over a period of time.
& girl you probably have no interest in at first, not attracted to in the slightest, and somehow over the course of time, you mental wittle away all her imperfections in your mind until all that is left if some beautiful person that you wonder why you didn't think of them that way before.

it was a great episode because it can be very true. Its like the beer goggle effect only over a much slower period of time. Weeks or even months.

I guess i'm the same way, because i haven't even noticed a laugh track in any of these more modern (compared to the stuff that was on nick at night when i was a kid) in a loooong time.

laugh track is sort of being phased out, its an insult to viewers. On the other hand some shows were filmed in front of a live audience. Laugh tracks especially piss me off when they say something not funny and they still laugh. In movie I always laugh when i see someone who has been funny in the past. Like bam Jonah hill cue laugh, bam John C. Riley cue laugh, bam Nick Swardson cue laugh..he wasn't even really funny on bedtime stories or art school confidential, but i still laughed.

Only when they laugh at something that's not funny.  Which is generally the case with Laugh Tracks...

What about the use of a laugh track as a joke itself?

I know futurama has done something like that from time to time, perhaps even the simpsons.

Yeah i remember those, bug again i can't remember if it was specifically that, the simpsons or futurama. I'm sure they've all done it at one point.

Two of my favorite examples are in Futurama, when they had Bender make a ton of one liners off camera for a lot of the episode (Human Horn episode, ie Lurr gives a speach about treating animals, big or small, with care and bender shouts "IN THIS CASE SMALL" lol).
The other one is the episode where Leela thinks she's found another long lost cyclops and they bicker like Al & Peggy while their neighbors watched on the couch while laughing/whistling like the Married... With Children audience used to haha.

God every time i think of that episode, i wish they had Ed O'neil to play Alquezar.. how EPIC would that have been!?

Laugh Tracks don't do well with animated shows.  I remember seeing some old Scooby Doo cartoons and hearing laugh tracks and thought "Did they animate this live before a studio audience?"

Didn't you know? They record the episodes debut premier in theaters and that is the laughing they hear when it is aired on TV.

You know your old when kids ask you what a cassette is.

You know you're even older when you then go on to talk about 8-tracks and records first before even getting around to explaining what a cassette is.
