This would have been news to be excited about, except according to the link its only the DSiWare in Japan.... This is no help to those of us who live elsewhere, but I suppose it does offer some hope that we won't be far behind.

I am also hoping we will see Tingle's gay adventure make its way on DSiWare at some point....

I have no doubt that this is going to come to other regions, Nintendo loves filler.

Electroplankton wasn't a "game". It was more like a musical experiment, like how Korg DS-10 is. Electroplankton might be better as a $5 DSiWare game. I never bought the retail game because it was $35 and had no save feature. You could spend an hour putting a musical piece together, but it would be deleted as soon as you shut the game off.

Lack of saving ability - sucks.
$35 price tag? Could be worse...

Yeah, I eventually decided I wanted to get the game (even with a lack of saving), but by that point the prices had sky rocketed. It was because in the US the game was only available online, Nintendo didn't make it available in brick and mortar store.

I was always curious of it. I'd probably pick it up once I get a DSi.

This also gives hope that other old and perhaps hard to get games will come this way.

I'm going to buy it, I have the game complete with manual and case but this would be neat to pull up anytime I turn on my DS!

It is one of those games. You could make a little jingle when you are bored. It would be nice if they added an export feature that allowed you to play the songs separately (and a save feature).

Stratos, have you played the game? I'm pretty sure you only toy around with the sounds, not making songs.

No...I haven't played it. But I've always been curious of it.

I would probably try to make music with it.

Yeah you can't save your songs, at least with the retail version. I wonder if you can now? Either way the game is something everyone probably should try if they get the chance.

You can save the songs by hooking the DS up to your line-in jack on your PC and then recording the output.

I have high hopes (but low expectations) that you'll be able to save the "songs" and play/trade them using the DSi's sound functions.

But if not, just record them onto your PC, convert them to AAC, then put them on your DSi the more complicated way...
