Extraordinary Measures: 8/10
I'm actually not entirely sure how I feel about this movie.
I stayed away from it because I thought Brendan Fraser would be terrible in a movie of this sort, but I was wrong he was only slighty bad.
Then there's the misleading title and description; there are only two or three moments of extraordinary measures, and it supposed to be about his two sick kids. However, they mainly focus on the daughter, and for the first 20 minutes or so I forgot it was supposed to be about two sick kids because they only showed the sick daughter and healthy son, with only a glimpse of the sick son.
Harrison Ford saved this movie imo. If a lesser actor had played the doctor there would be no point to this movie; it would have been another generic, feelgood, story of hope. Harrison Ford's character added the driving dynamic to the whole movie and it might have even been more interesting if it was told from his point of view.
Overall, a decent, if plebian, movie that I gave an extra point for Harrison Ford.
