I think this has more to do with how this forum software works, rather than some grand scheme to deprive all you fine people of your banners.

Crimm sounds a little too defensive about this. I think given the lack of information that we have to assume that this is an elaborate plot by Jon Lindemann to decrease forum morale and drive down support for Nintendo in favor of his beloved HD Next-Gen consoles.
