This weeks North American releases:
S.C.A.T. from Natsume for NES on VC (500 points)
Spot the Differences! from Sanuk Games for WiiWare (500 points)
G.G. Series Dark Spirits (known in PAL as Go Series: Dark Spirits) from Genterprise for DSiWare (200 points)
Boom Boom Squaries from Gamelion for DSiWare (200 points)
505 Tangram from Cosmigo for DSiWare (500 points)
Shawn Johnson Gymnastics from Zoo Games for DSiWare (500 points)

North America also gets 2 WiiWare Demos:
Lit from WayForward Technologies
Urbanix from Nordcurrent

I can't think of a more perfect representation of what the Virtual Console has become than the fact that we're getting a VC game called "S.C.A.T."   :-\   I guess Nintendo really doesn't want my money these days, as there hasn't been anything on the download services since Bit.Trip FATE worth buying, IMO.

Did Hydroventure come before or after FATE?

After (both in North America and Europe). Fluidity/Hydroventure came out 12/6 in NA and 12/24 in EU, Bit.Trip Fate came out 10/25 in NA and 11/19 in EU. Neither are out in Japan yet.

Yeah, I've been thinking about checking out Fluidity for a while now, but it hasn't been so enticing that I've felt any compulsion to stop playing what I'm currently playing and turn the Wii on...especially since the demo might have been pulled by now.

After hearing how much praise the game has gotten on RFN, I am thinking about checking it out myself. The only thing holding me back is that i've got a Lindemann-esque stack of games I haven't played yet.

Apparently the kisses game is about a girl (Pucca) will do whatever it takes to kiss Garu, a ninja who doesn't have any desire to kiss her (this is right in the official press release). Nintendo calls it a "interactive cartoon", whatever that means. I guess the game has not sold well in Europe if they cut the price in half for North America.

Pucca is a brand. It's possible it has more exposure in Europe, or the license holder there wanted more money.

Really? I didn't know that. I assumed it was a lack of sales because that has been the case in the past with a WiiWare game getting discounted in another region. I guess part of the reason I never heard of it is because the show airs on Jetix (a channel I don't get). Apparently Disney owns it, so I wonder why it doesn't get a bigger push here unless they don't think it would do well.

Remember Nintendo sets the prices. I would guess the price shows how much Nintendo thinks they can get away with charging.

I think you are joking. If not (or if anyone here doesn't know), someone from Tons of Bits confirmed that third parties can suggest prices for WiiWare games but Nintendo makes the final decision.

There's a Pucca show? I thought that was just a brand like Hello Kitty that gets put on clothes, accessories, etc.

The impression I get with that price system is that the dev pretty much gets to decide, Nintendo only interfere if they feel that the dev's price is bad (so low that it causes an app store style price crash or so high that it's stupid).

Remember that Nintendo let Bplus set their disaster of a first game, Plaatchen Paint N Twist at 1500 points in Europe.

I never understood what was so special about Faxanadu.

Some of the games with WiiWare demos are really bad. They would have a better chance of people buying them if they didn't know what they were getting into.
