Are Sinnoh and Hoenn Pokemon only available using those special radio stations? I am up to Ecruteak City and have only encountered Johto/Kanto Pokemon. With FireRed/LeafGreen they added in Johto and Hoenn Pokemon to catch in the wild. I also forgot how hard it is to get fire Pokemon (I just got my first one, Vulpix). I think soon I will go to NeoGAF or GameFAQs to try and get the legendaries.

You need to get the National Dex to have more ways to get Hoenn and Shinnoh pokemon. Those ways include Bug catching contest, Headbutting trees, and finally the Safari Zone.

You need the National 'Dex to get the radio expansion card. Then, on Wednesdays, you can catch certain Hoenn Pokemon in certain areas. On Thursdays, you can catch certain Shinnoh Pokemon in certain areas.

CAVEAT! The music must be playing while you're walking around for those Pokemon to be found. It's a pain, because every time you get out of a fight, you have to go back and start the music again.

UPDATE! The only other "evolve through trading" Pokemon I need to raise is Duskull, who I just picked up on the Pokewalker. And he's already holding a Reaper Cloth! I'll have to drag him through the Elite Four, too, but then I'll have ALL of those kinds of pocket monsters ready for trading. Exciting!

I gave up on Rock Blast. It's a pretty useless move. The Rock equivalent of Bullet Seed.

Sorry, I was kind of tired and zonked out. If you want to try again today, I am available anytime.

Anyways, I just got finished beating the Kimono Girls (they were a lot tougher than in the originals, especially since you have to fight all five in a row this time). Apparently I HAVE to go fight Lugia before I can head to the Pokemon League, the fight was optional in GSC. I was planning on capturing Lugia after I beat the Elite 4.

Yup, it'll be at Lv. 40, probably on top of the Burned Tower (that's where Ho-Oh was in my game). The Kimono Girls were a pain, but it was cool to see all the Eevee evolutions aside from Glacion and Leafeon.

I'll be recording a podcast tonight that will involve a lot of thumb-twiddling, Spyke, so I'd be happy to try again tonight, again, after 6 p.m. Zachlaska time. Just like last night, I'll hop into the trading room when I get home from work with a host of HeartGold exclusives.

Hmmmm...actually, if you have a spare Skarmory, I'd like that guy too! He's not in HeartGold either. I also have one more Pokemon to evolve through trading, if that's cool (Huntail).

I assume you live in Alaska? According to my world clock it is about 2:37 in Anchorage, so 6PM for you would b about 11PM for me.

I do have a Skarmory, I will breed one for you (or catch an extra one, whichever happens first).

Lugia is in the Whirl Islands, Burned Tower is just Ho-Oh. Since I have SoulSilver I get Lugia at 40 and Ho-Oh at 70 (and vice-versa for you and other HeartGold owners, you get Ho-Oh at 40 and Lugia at 70).

Yeah, I have no problem helping you evolve Pokemon. I think I have a Machoke, so I might as well evolve it (I have no interest in battling with it and thus don't care about its stats or moves).

Yeeeeah...the Machop line kind of blows, which is wierd, because Machamp is pretty baddass visually.
