This has been rumored for a long time. Seems like a waste though. Who actually looks at the characters in these games? When you are playing your eyes are focused on the notes, not the characters.

Well its official, the Lego series is in competition with Guitar Hero to see how much they milk themselves until they run dry.

There were rumors of a Lego Harry Potter, there's the Lego Battles game coming and another rumor stated that we were getting Lego Indiana Jones 2 based on "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

Its insane!

Legos are awesome. Rock Band, not so much. Unfortunately Lego's awesomity does not make up for Rock Band's suckitude.

The reality is that for many fans Rock Band is the superior band game. I've known several GH fans who converted into RB fans after the release of GH 3.

Unless you have played the game I think its kind of unfair to say RB sucks. But at this point its subjective.

That depends on your reasoning for wanting it. If you are a fan of Legos and Rock Band, then it seems like a safe bet.

Unless you have played the game I think its kind of unfair to say RB sucks. But at this point its subjective.
Of course it is unfair, as I loathe music games! And adding Legos doesn't change my opinion.

Wow, this has to be one of the most pointless uses of a license I've ever seen.  What exactly about Lego will make Rock Band any different?  Yeah, maybe the band members will rip each other's limbs off.  Whatever.  I wonder given that this is a "family friendly" license if the entire Rock Band experience will now be done with up to 2 buttons?

I can't imagine why. Guitar Hero III was my first Guitar Hero game and I loved it. I am not very good (even on medium I struggle), but I still love it.

GH 3 was basically the last straw for some it seems.

Like me.

Although ever since I looked into who Harmonix was, I've been a huge fan of them. So when they split and began work on Rock Band, I knew I would most likely prefer that.

GH 3 was basically the last straw for some it seems.

Will Lego Rock Band and RockBand Unplugged be the "last straws" for the current Harmonix fans?  Because as an outsider looking in, I see these as bigger offenses to whatever Guitar Hero III did or didn't do.  And I don't really see Harmonix as some sort of sacred cow genius.

I mean these guys just stayed up past 1 AM as saw all those "90's POWER BALLADS" or "Our Metal 80's" Infomercials, licensed the songs for a... song... and produced a rhythm game based solely on RAWK nostalgia.  It's not rocket science or motion controllers or anything.

I think what's worse is that IMO (again as an outsider looking in) is that Guitar Hero seemed more interested in keeping the experience of it alive on the DS with their little doohickey that came with it.  How is RockBand unplugged gonna play?  Full instruments on the PSP?  What the hell's the point of that?  Buttons?  Why?  Seems similar to the cash-grab stuff Activision is accused of, except I think it'll probably be less successful.

No because it lacks other genres, and other music ideas and basically anything else that isn't rock music. Beyonce's Bootylicious Dance Mix or Fail.

I want an opera band. Or country band. Or dance band.
