And this topic is once again a perfect reason why the videogame media is beyond pathetic and people shouldn't take articles like this seriously because changes are somebody has either messed up with the facts, or is intentionally messing with the facts.

Wow. I mean... wow. Of course, the Wii DOES have like... hmm... not too much of a bigger userbase than the XBox 360 in America... wow... this goes against conventional "gathering dust" wisdom!

Well, I know that I definitely use my PC for gaming more often than I use my Wii. That's not to say anything bad however, as I do often get into moods where I'll play the Wii exclusively for several days.

I think the only thing to have ever come close to beating out my PC was the Dreamcast. Man, I love that console.

I doubt anyone here represents the average Wii owner. I mean, the software ratio is 5.5 I believe, and it seems like everyone here has more games than that. We're probably the ones who tipped the scales and boosted the Wii to second place on the usage chart.

With how much I've played Mario Kart Wii, I probably represent 20% of the total Wii usage. ;D

I've played MKWii more then any Wii game I own, including Madworld, Super Awesome Galaxy, and finally Sonic and the Good Gameplay.

Cheap Grand Prix mode aside.

It's funny, my Wii usage has actually been increasing lately, in part because so many games got pricedrops after the christmas aftermath is over. Meanwhile the 360 is still gathering metaphorical dust because there's nothing available I want for that thing. Probably just me though since I consider HD graphical design offputting and wouldn't pay more than ~40€ for a game sporting it and that's if the game is very compelling, the value for less compelling games is significantly lower.

Anyway, if you think the wii's genre selection stinks you're probably out of luck on any system except the DS, the HD systems have about four genres* (FPS, RPG, racing, sports), the PC has everything the HD systems have plus the RTS, better controls and a MASSIVE supply of casual games... All systems have a massive lack of variety these days, the core gamers have pretty much contracted to the pool that likes gritty and gory games with most of the PS2's buyers in limbo.

*=Cue the lists of single titles in random other genres... small numbers of games don't count because they don't make a dent
