I'd like to see some old GB games, but only those that work within their graphical limits. No Donkey Kong Land, for instance.

1) Super Mario Land
2) Link's Awakening DX
3) Boomer's Adventure in Asmik Land
4) Metroid 2: Return of Samus
5) Kirby's Blockball OR Kirby's Pinball (or both)
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

Is that a real offer or just a joke because I'd take it.
Sorry, it's just a joke. Like the game itself. I need to keep it so that people think my GBA collection contains "quality" titles.

Donkey Kong 94 is a must for me as well.  In fact if that game was announced before I left for Korea I would buy a DSi just for that game.

2)Mario Land 2: The 7 Coins

I assume you mean Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

My top 5:

1)  Rhythm Tengoku
2)  Oracle of Seasons
3)  Oracle of Ages
4)  Donkey Kong 94
5)  Wario Land 2
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I missed out on Donkey Kong 94 and all the Wario Land games, so I want those above all else.  I might be willing to go for Advance Wars, which was unavailable by the time I discovered the series (I bought AW2 for ten bucks on a whim just to be able to use a coupon).

Wario Land 2 was the really good one. Wario Land 3 is basically just Wario Land 2 in color with a really stupid soccer inspired boss. And shame on you for missing DK94.

I'd be more interested in the Final Fantasy Legend series if Square Enix wasn't already remaking the second one which will likely lead to them just remaking the other 2.

Um... Wario Land 2 DX is Wario Land 2 in colour.

With the Final Fantasy Legend games I'd say remaking them is the better option, as they are far too primitive to be of much worth today. If they rewrite the story (or rather, actually write a story) and cut down on the level grinding required, they might actually become decent games.

Come on, really? Does this really need to be explained? Wario Land 3 plays exactly the same as Wario Land 2. It loses points for its complete lack of originality.

So, basically, if they made an entirely different game.

And yet we are clamoring for new versions of Mario Brothers 3, Mario World and other classic games. Or are you one of the poeple who isn't clamoring, I don't remember.

Wario Land 3 was just Wario Land 2 Part 2. No innovation, no new ideas. I'm not satisfied with simply playing new levels of existing games. I mean, I played them, but I don't feel the same passion or excitement. Any new version of a classic game would absolutely need to push the concept further and innovate while still remaining fun with the hope of surpassing what came before.

I only give the Final Fantasy Legend series a second look since I never played them. When it comes to this service, I would only consider buying a game I never played or played very little of, but don't own. That said, I really don't need to at this point seeing as Square Enix is already remaking what is considered the best of the 3 for DS. Honestly, I'd rather try that if anything.

Saying Wario Land 3 is the same as 2 is a pretty big overstatement.  2 was set up with branching paths, but there was no telling which path you were taking.  3 had a dynamic overworld, that had you fetching items that would affect older levels, and a (mostly) linear progression.  I'd say they are 2 pretty unique games in there own ways.  It's not a Super Mario lost levels situation where it's some sort of map pack.

Yes they use the same engine, but they each have their own unique flavor.  The whole series is worth playing, it's still fairly young (Wario Land shake it being the 5th installment[or 6th if you count the virtual boy]) and its interesting to see where its heading.

I personally preferred 3 to 2, it plays a little better.  4 was my favorite though, and I would like to see it as I have lost my copy.

All this talk of the Virtual Boy Warioland makes me want to break out the old VB and give it a play again.

Wario World doesn't count as a part of the Wario series? That game is all kinds of awesome, and even though it isn't a sidescroller, well, it is actually sort of still set up like one. It may not be two-dimensional but it has the same spirit of the 2D games.

That might be a good RetroActive nomination right there. It wasn't well received in my opinion even though Treasure made it and they are known for good games. I remember deciding to pass on it back then because it didn't have a co-op option with Waluigi. Imagine it with Wario-Waluigi co-op brawling goodness.

I don't count it, the emphasis on exploration isn't as prevalent, and the fighting is a big focus.  I also don't count Master of Disguise, and I don't think it counted itself either.  It could be argued,  but it's wario WORLD not wario land: brawl or some such.  Unlike the Mario series where "super" ties the main games together, there are only 5 (or 6 with the VB depending on how you feel about it) wario LAND games, and they are all awesome.

I do like Wario World though, it's a good game and very underrated.

Then I'm glad I nominated it for RetroActive. You should go second my nomination to hopefully convince Jonny to put it on the list for the next poll, rbtr.

But it isn't the "Wario Land" series, it is just the "Wario" series as it is the "Mario" series. Super Mario 64 plays far differently than any Mario game which came before it, yet it is still a part of the Mario series. Wario World has its differences but it very much feels like a Wario Land game in 3D, and that seems to give it more merit as a mainline Wario game than any word in the title ever could.

Stratos, it seems you keep coming up with different games to nominate for the RetroActive. Shouldn't you find just one to pick and rally behind? Also I literally just beat Wario World yesterday and I don't know if I'd want to play it again so soon.

I disagree, I don't really think it plays like a warioland game in 3d, it's not even "3-d" unless you think double dragon is in "3-d".  This is getting off track though SO...

I'd like to see:

A boy and his blob, just to play it
Final Fantasy Adventure, so I won't have to worry about the battery in my copy dying
Kirby's Star stacker, because it's awesome
Revenge of the Gator, best pinball game ever
And if import games ever become a reality, I would love to see X, the first game boy game with 3-d graphics.

Width? Check. Height? Check. Depth? Check. Three dimensions.

Final Fantasy Adventure was apparently remade as "Sword of Mana" on the Game Boy Advance, but I don't know how different it really is since I haven't played it. Yet.

Yeah, just like double dragon.  I dunno, I guess a big expansive 3-d world would have been way cooler to see for wario considering the treasure hunting aspect, and Wario world feels sort of stilted and stiff because it's still pretty much "move to the right".  Some levels eventually branched out and so forth, but I always wanted more.  I think that the wario games get Nintendo's "b" effort to much.

I felt they really botched Sword of Mana,  the game play was mostly the same, but they needlessly embellished the plot and turned it into a pretty standard Jrpg affair with whiny lead characters.  "But we can't kill the dark lord he deserves to live!"  Wherein the original there was no questions, simply killing.  Plus they took out the chocobo!  Honestly though, it's probably much better than the original, but I have strong memories tied to the original.
