A fantastic game is still a fantastic game, regardless of if it's a new entry in an existing franchise or not.

The nightmares scenes in this game are a bit of a hit or miss with me. The screaming monsters will ALWAYS catch up with you, no matter how fast you run. Tension fun is fun, but it gets annoying when you are low in stamia and have three of them hug-raping(?) you.

Once you start throwing debris behind you, you'll almost never get caught from behind again. Just skirt next to lockers etc. and do the motion when instructed. After that, the only time you should ever get caught is if a monster's literally on the other side of the door, and those are easy to shake off.

Played a little bit more of this a few minutes ago.  It's neat.  Ran into my first fleshnoids!

Shaking them off was easy.  I could waggle them off all day long.

Played a lot more last night.  So fun.  I typically shake off the fleshnoids in one stroke.  If you ever found yourself shaking the controllers in futility, you're doing it wrong, and you've been wrong about the whole Wii thing from the very beginning making youself an empty shell of a self-proclaimed gamer.

Using my acute sense of direction, I slip and weave thru their oily grasps and arrive at the exit with minimal circling.

I am not Harry Mason, I am Jason Bourne.

This...game...is...amazing!

So awesome. The atmosphere and the creepy 'spirit' interactions and the flights are wonderfully put together. I sometimes panic in the frenzy of being attacked and start shaking the wiimote wildly and die (I also realized after dieing a few times I was doing the motions wrong). I turned the lights on in the room at one point because I was feeling creeped out.

I like the little touches the game adds from your psyche profiling. You see them everywhere. I'm at the high school now.

This game should be owned by every Wii owner who likes survival horror and scary games.

I would laff out lowd if Harry Mason ends up in The Blue Oyster Bar right after one of his chases.  It would fit the sense of fear, terror, and confusion in this game so well.

I got this game for my gf for xmas (among other things) and after she started playing it, she beat it like a day or two later :/... I dont know if that means the game was super easy or she's just a more advanced gamer than i thought. Does this game have a selectable difficulty setting or something?

For what its worth, she said she really enjoyed it for the short time she had with it, and will probably replay it a few more times answering the profile questions differently.

How long did she play during those two days? Marathon-ing a game in two 8-hour increments is still 16 hours. Is that necessarily a bad length, especially if the game has some re-playability?

I'm not sure to be honest, she doesn't normally marathon game but she didn't work those days either so its likely.

I accidentally spent close to 4-hours playing it my first time because I got so absorbed in the game. It's nice to run into a game that absorbs you like that.

I just finished the review copy I received.  I'm still processing it, but to say I was impressed is quite the understatement.  I'm going to start a second playthrough and see how it differs, but I hope to have a review up and through editing by the start of next week.

I can see you guys giving it an eight at best (that's what it deserves, personally). The flaws are annoying, but the rest of the game shines.

I started writing a lengthy reply, and then decided that basically I was writing my review here in this thread, so I had to stop myself. :)

Suffice it to say that I really like this game, and if I were a betting man, I'd bet on me giving the game higher than an 8.0.  How much higher, I don't know.  We'll see.

I appreciate what it does, because it's the first time a third party developer outside of Grasshoper has made awesome use of the Wiimote.

Man, didn't they?  The flashlight is great, and also the little bits of motion sensing for things like unlocking a door or turning a dial - I really liked those bits.

Oh man, looks like Konami went into flop mode for SHSM: Amazon lists it as 30€ here, earlier it was listed as 40€ so the price went down (it's still not released). They also released Cv Judgment at 30€ after the panning it got in America.

I thought half of the price drops on Amazon were made by Amazon to get people to buy stuff? Though I guess we'll see for sure if the price doesn't go back up after a little bit.

Also odd because it reportedly broke the 100k mark.

Before it's released? Remember, lower prices during the preorder time means all preorders get the lower price, even if they were made before then. It's not a deal of the week by the way, that seems to be the regular price.
