I need a clarification on the split screen. I can't tell if everybody is using the terms horizontal and vertical in the same way I picture it. Are you referring to the orientation of the imaginary line dividing the screen (so horizontal would mean player 1 on top and player 2 below) or are you referring to the orientation of the players' screens relative to each other (so horizontal would mean player 1 on the left and player 2 on the right)?

I got shipping notice from Amazon today, and it looks like I'll have my copy in time for WiFi night.

Vertical: Split vertically, Player 1 takes left, Player 2 takes right side

I just picked up Excitebots and am really loving it so far. No surprise, since I was a big fan of ExciteTruck, and this one seems better in many ways.

However, the vs. mode is disappointingly stagnant. It still maxes at two players, and you still can't include AI racers.

I've barely played online mode, but it looks to be pretty thorough (except for WiiSpeak, d'oh!). Finding a random match was pretty fast, and the betting system looks interesting.

I was never personally a fan of adding in CPU racers. I can do that alone, so why do it when living beings are around?

As for only allowing two-players, I can see why. The draw distance in the game is already hard enough to make out with only two people playing.

Overall though, the game is fun. It doesn't feel quite as "tight" as Excite Truck however. I think that may just be because there's so much going on at any given time though.

Because then you can team up with the other player to take on the CPU players. I guess if you're competitive then it isn't a feature you'd care about.

I played the game with my mom's boyfriend and we had a BLAST in split screen. My mom also raced a couple of laps and we did some of the REALLY fun minigame modes.

I played the game with my wife's girlfriend, she thought it was meh, but she never like robots anyway.

It didn't take me long to get used to it when I was playing with my family. Really horizontal isn't that necessary for this type of game (though it would have been nice to have the option)

I purchased all of the first set of bots.

UPB first enter your profile than go down collections, then icons, select your icon and that is it.

Yeah, I finally found that when I decided to look at collections today. That's a ridiculously unintuitive place for it. As fun as the game is, the interface is really infuriating sometimes.

I just had a thought regarding why they didn't include the SD support from Excite Trucks.

Maybe Nintendo's 4.0 System update broke their code from the last game? Has anyone tried to use Excite Truck's SD music support after getting the 4.0 update?

If this is the case then maybe they didn't view it as worthwhile to fix the code so they removed it.
