Sorry, but after that plot disaster that was Subspace Fanfictionary, I don't want to see the KH writer touch my favorite Nintendo characters, ever.

I personaly think that a cross-over game might not work, but then again, people said that KH wouldn't work. It does, except for the bad gameplay. =/

Can't always get what you want.

I'd also like to see a big third party series (besides Monster Hunter) make a shift to the Wii.  That could be Square actually showing Dragon Quest 10, but I'd like something totally unannounced to this point.  I think that should be is Kingdom Hearts 3 with Nintendo themed worlds.

Don't know why, but I am expecting KH 3 to hit the PS3. No offense but it sounds like a fanboy's wet dream come true.

However, I would like to see a TRUE Nintendo crossover game. No, the Subspace Emissary in Brawl does not count.

I'd rather see KH3 on PS3 or Xbox 360. ::hides::

Makes sense to me, might as well watch long cutscenes in HD right?

I would agree with GP if I wasn't holding out hope for Nintendo characters. If it IS on Wii, I don't see any reason for them not to do it, unless Disney throws a fit about not being the "stars" anymore.

Why is everyone assuming that if Square Enix incorporates Nintendo characters into a game it has to be Kingdom Hearts?  Why can't they just make a Super Mario RPG kind of project but expand it to cover the entire Nintendo universe?  Why not make a completely NEW game for a Nintendo crossover and thus not have to deal with Disney or adhere to the gameplay model of an established series?  There's no reason to have to shoehorn this concept into Kingdom Hearts.

Can Nintendo go lower then Twilight PlotExcuse?

I seriously think they can't, unless they get Yoshiaki Koizumi to write the story again (it will never happen).

I'm setting my hopes at rock bottom this year in the hopes I'll walk away delighted.  That said, I'm forcing myself to expect Wii Music 2 and Rayman Raving Rabbits Invade Wind Waker.

Wii Music wasn't that bad. It was a little simplistic, but was a decent game overall and had lots of potential. If/when they make a sequel (the first did sell several million copies after all), I hope Nintendo doesn't cheap out again by using almost only public domain music and music from their own games.

I want to see a proper sequel to Super Mario RPG, but this time it involves Luigi instead of Mario and while old character may make cameo appearances, there should be a new set of allies Luigi teams up with along the way.

Proper sequel? Both the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario series are far and away better than that Square ****. I want to see another Paper Mario RPG, instead of the quasi-RPG that Super Paper Mario was.

You've had your sequels.  Let us Super Mario RPG fans have ours. :)

I actually liked it better when it appeared that each Mario RPG would be vastly different than the last with even a different dev each time.  When they revealed the second Paper Mario I found the news kind of disappointing.  Turns out the unique way the series had gone was a complete fluke and Nintendo considered Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi to be seperate franchises to be milked.  But if they're going to do that then they might as well give us Super Mario RPG 2.

OK I'm sorry but DONKEY KONG, people, DONKEY KONG!!!

I've read every single post here and not one person even bothered to mention the idea of a Donkey Kong game.  Seriously, where has the love for the big ape gone?

Donkey Kong is still one of Nintendo's top series.  Contrary to belief, Jungle Beat sold pretty well, not to mention the GBA ports of the Country games were million sellers last gen.  Hell, the first Donkey Konga game on the Gamecube managed to sell a million copies worldwide based on the appeal of DK.

So in other words, there's a good chance Nintendo will announce a Donkey Kong game of some kind at E3.  Personally I'd love to either see a sequel to Jungle Beat, or an all new 3d Donkey Kong using the Mario Galaxy engine.  As long as Tokyo EAD is being either one, you know the end result will be amazing.

Well that's probably not ever going to happen, considering that the SquareSoft of 1996 is vastly different from the Square Enix of 2009.  If anything Mario and Luigi is the closest you'll get because AlphaDream has a few old Square employees, and the music is largely by the same composer.

Isn't that ironic?  Nintendo's been making "Super Mario RPG 2" the whole time and nobody noticed.

Tokyo EAD has to make the next DK! 3D would be great for me since I thought jungle beat was the ultimate 2d experience. Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, I would love to see all 3. Man running through the forests and jungles are always so amazing.

After DK Bongo Blast Racer and Jungle Beat Off GameCube Wag-Ports, Nintendo's got a lot of work to do to make DK relavant today, like KICK HIM TO THE CURB AND SAVE HIM FOR NEXT GEN, CUZ IT'S OBVIOUS THEY'VE MISHANDLED THEIR MONKEY FOR THE LAST THREE PRODUCTS HE WAS IN.  Even if 2 of those 3 products are OK, they did a terrible job publicizing them.

I hate the idea of a plot driven crossover, the back-of-the-booklet story for regular crossovers is bad enough already, we don't need to emphasize something that cannot rise above the level of fan fiction. Crossover stories are lame because their constraint is that they MUST include characters X,Y and Z and build a story from there rather than determining a plot path and what characters are needed for it.

For me Donkey Kong has no identity right now so I'm not looking for a new Donkey Kong game.  I don't know what to look for.  To me just "hey look DK is in a game" isn't good enough.  When Rare had Donkey Kong there was some identity.  I had an idea of what to expect and figured I would like it.

But right now DK is just an IP and that don't mean squat.  They have to create something for me to associate DK with.  Same with Star Fox.  I don't care about a new Star Fox game because I have no fucking idea what the hell Nintendo would give me.  So I don't ask for it.  Nintendo has to turn Star Fox into something worth caring about for me to want it.

Nintendo isn't about their characters, it's about their games.  If you just want DK or Kirby or Luigi or whoever in SOMETHING and don't give a **** what it is then you're just ruining it for the rest of us by encouraging them to make junk.  You play the game, not the character on the box.

Well technically Nintendo transported DK from their animal shelter to Rareware's facility, only to be molested.  So he was doomed and traumatized long before Mature Zelda, Taking Names, and the Casual Generation took place.

Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat says hi.  Not only is it the best Donkey Kong game ever created, it's one of the best platformers ever created.  Which is no surprise considering it was done by Tokyo EAD right before they went on to do Mario Galaxy.

If Nintendo was to announce that Tokyo EAD is working on a new Donkey Kong, whether it's a 2d Jungle Beat sequel or a new 3d one, either way you can expect it to be high quality.

Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat says hi.

But there are no bongos on the Wii.  "Games that use bongos" is pretty much the best way to describe DK games of last gen.  Barrel Blast was supposed to be a bongo game for the Cube.  To me that's too vague of an identity to associate with Donkey Kong and the bongos can't be replicated.  We saw Nintendo's SAD attempt to do so with Barrel Blast.  So either DK's most recent style of games can't be done on the Wii or they can but in a really shitty way.

Though I still didn't feel DK has an identity.  He's been passed from dev to dev and ALL of his recent games have been novelty titles.  There is no A-list DK series right now like Rare's series was.  He just feels like that guy that Nintendo throws in titles that a jungle related theme could be shoehorned into.
