Topic: Spore Hero for Wii announced

Spore Hero is going to be the much talked about Wii version of Spore. The game takes place on one planet and is more of a story driven game compared to its counterpart. Players will need to forge alliances, battle other creatures and utizlie motion controls to play through the game.

Sounds pretty interesting a more RPG type of spore and I suppose a more story driven spore would be more interesting if developed right.

If I know my fanbase people will complain that its a spin-off title and demand the original version to be released. BUT, the original game received mixed reviews, saying that the multiple gameplay genres were unbalanced, that the game needed a single genre for it to shine.

I haven't played Spore myself, but it looks like you either love it or hate it.

Well Spore isn't on the other consoles while the dumbed down spin-off goes to the Wii so it isn't so insulting.  To me that's really the difference.  The Wii isn't getting neglected or treated like an afterthought but actually getting something the competition isn't.

But then it is EA releasing a console variation of a PC game which is an iffy situation.  But it isn't like Spore was released on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously while the Wii gets Spore Waggle instead.

For a console game, the console is the DRM the worst EA can do is what they do with their PS3 games, have their games produce protective saves where you can't move them.

Yeah, it's out.  Comparing this game to the original makes it seem like EA isn't serious about Wii after all.
