Have you ever wanted to just sit on your couch and watch YouTube on your TV? Well, now that's possible via YouTube for Television, initially available through the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii game consoles at www.youtube.com/tv. Currently in beta, the TV Website offers a dynamic, lean-back, 10-foot television viewing experience through a streamlined interface that enables you to discover, watch and share YouTube videos on any TV screen with just a few quick clicks of your remote control. With enlarged text and simplified navigation, it makes watching YouTube on your TV as easy and intuitive as possible. Optional auto-play capability enables users to view related videos sequentially, emulating a traditional television experience. The TV Website is available internationally across 22 geographies and in over 12 languages.

As previously blogged, YouTube has partnered directly with major TV and set-top box manufacturers to bring YouTube into the living room. Still, very few such devices today contain a Web browser or provide access to YouTube. Our hope is that this site may help to accelerate an industry evolution towards open television access to Web video. Over time, we plan to add support for additional TV devices that provide Web browsers.

It's basically a new interface that brings youtube on the TV much better. So far it's only available on Wii and PS3 if you try to use the URL www.youtube.com/tv you will be diverted back to the regular youtube website. The interface is pretty good.

I just checked it out and it works alot better than the normal youtube site.You have the option of going forward and back in the video.You can skip to the next video or previous video.I tried clicking on the plus and minus but they didn't do anything. It works nicely.

The plus and minus buttons(referring to the video interface not the Wii remote buttons) are supposed to control volume.

Could've used this on Christmas when we were watching Plan 9 From Outer Space on the TV. Reminds me, is there a way to hide that annoying navigation bar in the Wii browser now? Therre's already little enough pixels on the screen the bar is unnecessary.

Youtube has crashed the Wii browser for me a few times, so a version designed for it is welcome indeed.

The bar hides when you don't point at it for a few seconds, and it's been that way as long as I can remember.  Maybe there was an update I forgot about.  Or are you perhaps talking about the Youtube playback controls?

You can press the "1" button to hide it.

You have to go into the options to turn off the bar at the bottom of the screen.

Good to know, I was trying to get full screen but couldn't get rid ofthe dman bar.

There is a full screen mode, right?

Gave it spin, watching some music videos. It doesn't do a true full screen on my tv, but I like the sleek interface.
