I just got my copy of Game & Watch Collection (I ordered it on Thursday). I'm debating whether to open it or keep it in its wrapper and sell it on eBay in a few years.

You should open it and see if it has a registration code so you can get more points from it.

I'm only about 140 coins away from 800 and I plan to order and open the G&W game. So if you want to wait until near the end of Summer I should have enough by then and I'll let you know the contents. I'll even post pics.

I wouldn't buy it. It's a novelty nothing else, maybe something else will pop up soon. Buy stuff that is practical not just neat. Nintendo could have put EVERY SINGLE game and watch game on a DS cart but didn't.

Because they saved more for the sequel that is out in Japan. I want it anyway. I liked those games on the GBA and I want some I can play on my DS.

Though if that Blue Wiimote/Nunchuck set comes to the gift shop all desires for the G&W games will fly out the window.

What two are on the second G&W set?

Octopus and Parachute, along with a third, somewhat original game where you play Parachute on the top screen and Octopus on the bottom screen - Men parachute into your boat, then you go underwater for treasure.

Then saving it for future eBay use it is. Should get quite some money since Club Nintendo is the only way to get the game.

Well, perhaps I should order the Game and Watch Collection now so I can sell it in case the value decreases later.

That hasn't stopped the Zelda bonus discs from making a lot of money. Even used copies sell for about $35, unopened copies sell for a lot more. Rare items are valuable because they are rare, regardless of how easy the content is to get (a rare album will still sell for a lot of money even if it is easy to find on CD or download from iTunes/Amazon because the actual physical album is rare).

But you are still gonna have to hold onto them for some time before they are considered rare and therefore valuable

Not a problem. I just put in my closet or something. I will probably end up playing it though. I don't sell any of my games anymore though (I think the last time I sold or traded in a game was like 4 years ago).

Same here. I've regretted losing every game I've sold. Even if it wasn't very good, I get the urge to try them again from time to time and some of them would have been great for potential RetroActives.

Off the top of my head I've sold:
Command & Conquer 64
Dark Summit (GC)
Resident Evil 2 (N64)
Turok 2 (N64)
Harvest Moon: It's a Wonderful Life (GC)
Rogue Squadreon 2 (GC)
More NES games that I care to think about... :(

The only one I don't regret selling is the GC Harvest Moon. I really didn't like that game. The others I've wanted to try again at some point. I've sold others, but can't recall them right now. Intrestingly, I know I've never sold off an SNES game. Rather proud of that :)

I chose Doc Luis' Punch Out in hopes that I wouldn't have to wait as long, but the download code won't be emailed until November.

I also chose the game because... well, what am I going to do with a Mario cap?
