It also looks like you won't be able to claim that prize on July 1st, or possibly even July. By the end of the calendar year? How long is it going to take? We've impatient here!

Probably just being cautious. It's the same way they tell you something will take 2-3 weeks to deliver but you usually get it in less than a week.

True. Nintendo especially is conservative with their numbers. Here's hoping the prizes can be claimed in July!

I used up my Club Nintendo points on some sweet hand towels, should be washing my hands with those babies in no time.

Do we know for sure that is what the item is? Though, for 5k coins, it probably is. That's a nice trick to force everyone to enter their coin codes at once instead of hearding them all for the next calendar year to instantly get to platinum status.

I do like it though. After I get the DS game I may go for that. I still need two more Wiimotes and Nunchucks. The M+ would be nice to get too.

It amazes me that after all this time there are still people who don't understand the elite status system.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

What I'm saying is that people are hoarding their coins for each fiscal year status change. But that only means you can add 800 coins worth of games per year for the Platunim status. If Nintendo has one or two big 5k prizes then people who want them will have to wait several years to be able to afford at at 800 coins a year. So they may decide to just post all of their codes and surveys now in order to get the special 5k prize instead of slowly entering 800 coins/year. This would then require those gamers to buy more Nintendo products to get enough coins for next years platinum status instead of just entering their old codes at the turn of the fiscal year.

This is too much!  Does Nintendo have enough Wii games out for us to reach this 5k goal?  That's 100 games, right?  Is the Japanese point system different?

Wow i was totally off the mark. I thought this was the prize for platinum members, not something to buy. 5k in points is a TON of stuff. That's like everything in that year

In Japan, Club Nintendo registrations have expiration dates.

They have expiration dates here too. But the earliest one on my list is New Super Mario Brothers at 2013.

How big are those towels. I wouldn't mind a beach towel like that. Are they on the Japanese site?

Yes, 600 coins = Platinum/Elite status. You have to hit it by July first.

nonono.... The actual registration cards for Club Nintendo Japan have expiration dates printed on them.  For example, my Ouendan 2 has an expiration date of 5/31/2009.  After that, it yields no coins for registering (I don't even know if you can still register it after that date).

All of the games eligible for coins right now might not have expiration dates but that doesn't mean they will always be eligible. It's one of those "subject to change without notice" sort of dealy so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the older Nintendo-published titles are no longer eligible after the start of a new Club Nintendo year.

Well, I entered NSMB and Endless Ocean a few months back and they still yielded coins. The only ones i haven't gotten coins for are GC and GBA games.

Today is the last day to input your registrations for the 1st US Club Nintendo Platinum Member Prize.

If you are not upto 600pts yet, better get to the site and fix that.

Anybody have any ideas what the prizes will be?

& is there anybody out there about to be platinum status tomorrow too?
