I only collect things that feel like getting something new (e.g. equipment in an RPG changes the game, at least minimally), how much of a difference does collecting in AC make?
None at all. Items just sit there in your house. The maximum possible enjoyment you can get out of an item is going up to it and pressing A, and it'll make a sound. The game is embarrassing. It's
completely destroyed Nintendo as a company in my world. I can't support Nintendo in public anymore because someone can just say to me "yeah but Animal Crossing City Folk" and i'll have to sit down. It's something Sony would try and pull off. I never thought Nintendo would try and deceive people this badly, and out in the open like this. If it wasn't for Disaster: Day of Crisis i'd boycott Nintendo as a whole. It's such a sad state of affairs, it truly is the surprise of the generation to me. They're going to sink like Sony next generation, they've
already lost focus and quit putting effort into things, a mere few years into the domination. It's like a fat person losing a few kilos, he's over the moon but he's still a giant greasy fat ****. It's pathetic, they have no idea how to handle and control things. It's not just an issue of their own game quality but being the market leader, the entire gaming industry is in their hands and their responsibility, and they are just laughing and counting their cash and flushing it down the toilet. It's so frustrating being an outsider and watching Nintendo literally destroy themselves. It's like some guy is leading a marathon halfway and just starts pumping his fists in the air and singing, then he faints. This is something that will become more apparent with time, trust me. Brand loyalty doesn't exist anymore, it's every game for itself. And the more copies City Folk sells, the worse off Nintendo is. It's going to kill them down the line, it's going to cripple their reputation. The game will break records, as the most returns ever issued for a single game, and the people doing this, will think the same way about the ENTIRE Wii system lineup.
Animal Crossing City Folk is
REVOLUTIONARY. Never
ever has something like this happened before, not just out of Nintendo, but any major game developer in history. It's the biggest scam the world has ever seen, and that's NO exaggeration, the gaming industry is HUGE right now, and this will be the spotlight of this holiday season, everyone is going to be looking at this game with a massive magnifying glass, and the truth is going to come out and
SPREAD. This is going to be THE thing on everyone's lips when gaming pops up, everyone will be talking about "wow that new Animal Crossing is so crap, it's exactly the same as the others", "yeah what's Nintendo doing"?, "I dunno i'm glad I didn't buy it". It seems like just another game release, but this will go down in history, and the most significant release ever, and one that COMPLETELY turns the tide of the industry against Nintendo, and towards an open space of uncertainty, at this CRUCIAL time. This is Nintendo throwing their responsibility of the industry in the garbage, and EVERYONE is going to suffer. The saddest part is that the door was open for Nintendo and City Folk, it was WIDE open, all they had to do was walk through it, but they completely tarded out and started eating icecream. It's depressing and I hate thinking about it. From a personal standpoint I find myself in an awkward situation, should I still support Nintendo's other endeavors knowing their TRUE nature? I just wanna forget about it all. As much as I hate to say it Nintendo would be better off without Reggie and Cammie and the rest of those fuckwits and be replaced with people truly into offering consumers the best experience possible. This entire part of my world has been turned upside down with this one piece of software and I don't like it one bit.
