I found this demo to be both hideous and boring. RTS with way too much boring dialog to start.

So it's like Lock's Quest? Malstrom was right, games waste too much time before starting.

I've never played Lock's Quest but I've heard it compared to that.  From my own experience I can say its a lot like Desktop Tower Defense, and Pixeljunk Monsters.  There is a lot of dialogue, but if you read it, its actually pretty funny.  Like when the Mayor ask the Ninja Master how many demons there are, he brings over a "Ninja Consultant" to compute the final number.

Seriously, just give it a shot.  The demo is pretty robust as you get to play through 6 levels.

I liked the charm of the cut scenes, but ShyGuy's right--the game is kind of boring.  So far the ninjas are all pretty much the same and so are the enemies.  The only strategy is whether to build a new ninja hut or to upgrade your existing one.  I've only played the first three levels of the demo, so maybe it'll pick up later when they add more varied units and (hopefully) have multiple enemy spawn points.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I'd imagine it gets pretty crazy, in fact here's the trailer with some later stages.

The critics are now validating my opinions, 8.0 from NP and 8.7 from IGN!

Closing Comments
Borrowing an existing game design can work if you inject it with your own personality, and that's exactly what Ninjatown has done. Tower Defense is already a fun game, and most things in life can be improved by adding ninjas. The brief devil invasions here (around 10 minutes each) are perfect for portable gaming. Add in the friendly single- and multicart multiplayer modes and Ninjatown offers a pretty high quality of life
.

Just give the game a shot if you haven't already, demo should still be up.

I really enjoyed the demo!  Even though the dialogue was a little long winded, it was at least funny and entertaining.  The ninja consultant, I thought, was great.  I'm a sucker for random, obscure humor though.
