If I got this game I would use the motion controls, because I mean seriously that's what the Wii is all about right? They might take some getting used to but I'm not going to allow myself to wimp out and use the NES-style controls. It's like when I got Mario Super Sluggers, the motion controls felt kind of disconnected so I started using the NES-style controls. After a while I decided they were no fun, so I forced myself to use the motion controls. Now I can't imagine using anything else, they are just so satisfying.

i'll be checking it out. dont think i'l participate in the tourney since theres no way i'd win, but i'll check it out and post some pics here. probably wont get to post them till tomorrow lol

edit: im on the 1 train into the city now, i'll post some impressions if i do get to play the game. hell i'll post impressions of how others play the game since im there.

No, wasn't aware anyone else was going. Pretty lame event actually. I'll post more when I get off the train.

I am really excited for this game now that it is getting great reviews all around. It sounds like the perfect game for fans of the original who may have liked Super Punch-Out!! but it was not a favorite of theirs (My guess is that more people prefer the original to the SNES one which few people seemed to have played). The challenges should be a blast to complete.

I was there, too.

It was pretty lame, but I was the second person who did the trivia at the end of round one of the tournament. I won a pink hoodie and a copy of the game.

I am so intrigued as to who is the last secret boxer in the title defense mode. Everybody has sworn secrecy on that, so it better be funny, shocking or awesome.

Hm iwe probably passed eachother once or twice and didn't even know it. I really should check out the staff blogs more!

The event was pretty lame, and I felt the staff didn't really try hard enough to pump up the crowd. I recognized half the staff from my time there and out of all of them, only one had the kinda energy needed to be a hypeman (the guy with the red Ryu bandana, I'm sure nron10 saw him). All by himself though, he looked like a crazy man lol... poor Mike

I might of had a better time if I was familiar with the series, but I'm not. The trivia was all greek to me so I didn't bother, and I didn't get any hands on time with the game either. It sure looked fun though. My girlfriend and I picked up some merch and left the event maybe an hour after getting there, and walked up and down this awesome street fair just a few blocks away from NWS.

I took a few pics which I'll try to post later Sunday for all to enjoy. Besides the awesome merch I picked up, the other good thing to come out of today was that I downloaded Punch Out! On my wii via VC and am enjoying the game! After winning the Minor Circuit and seeing Lil Mac running down the streets of a pixelated Bronx, NY in his all pink outfit.. I realized why this one kid at the tourney wore the same outfit, and how out of the loop I was there amongst real fans

I can only afford to buy 5 Wii games in the next month and a half and this doesn't make the cut, but I will probably try to rent it on GameFly and if I really like it I may end up spending money i don't have to keep it.
