Nintendo did not disappoint with the reveal of the Nintendo DSi, a Wii storage solution, a new Punch-Out game, Sin and Punishment 2, and much more. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=16812 Nintendo held their autumn press conference in Tokyo, Japan earlier today and revealed a laundry list of new items relating to both the DS and the Wii.
Nintendo's worst kept secret was finally given a name: the Nintendo DSi. The new iteration of Nintendo's popular handheld will feature a camera, audio playback, and an Internet browser. For more information, check out our news story.
After that, they showed a video featuring DS titles due out both this year and next, which included footage of 2009 titles Mario & Luigi 3 and a new WarioWare title. Next they showed off a quick demo of the upcoming DS and Wii title, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, which will be released on January 29th next year. Concluding the DS section of the press conference was a Dragon Quest IX "image anime" trailer.
Nintendo then moved onto the Wii and talked about a storage solution. Following that announcement, they showed a video that talked about the different ways of using the Wii online and also presented a Wii Wi-Fi Adapter to aid users in the process. They also announced that if a Wii owner helps another Wii owner get online, they will both get 500 Nintendo Points for free.
The conference continued as Nintendo talked about their fall lineup for Wii and confirmed a November 20 Japanese release of Animal Crossing. Nintendo then revealed the rhythm game Let's Tap, which is being made by Yuji Naka's new company, Prope. A Wii video montage unveiled a number of new games like Punch-Out, a Wii version of the Another Code series (Trace Memory in America), and Sin and Punishment 2. They also announced a new game in Namco Bandai's Tales Of series and Sengoku Musou 3 (Samurai Warriors 3). If that wasn't enough, Nintendo also declared that they would re-release a selection of GameCube games, including Pikmin, under the "Wii de Asobu Selection" label, which translates to "Games You Can Play on Wii."
Nintendo concluded the press conference with Miyamoto talking about and demonstrating Wii Music, and inviting members of the audience to the stage to play.
