I took no offense. I am a bit peeved that Nintendo's been hard at work on bringing us basically the same game for third time. I wonder if I'm going to get the game and basically and just feel like I blew my money on nothing. Reading Pale's account I wonder if the dialogue has even changed.

I can't get excited about this game. I got burned with Wild World's "more of the same" and hearing Pale's comments is doing nothing to re-kindle the interest.

It's sad, considering I loved the first one. But I think that had more to do with where I was in life at the time (living in the dorms, surrounded by people to live in my town and play with).

Save file is 36 blocks.

Just played online with Bloodworth.  Hopefully my terrible voice doesn't show up on Gametrailers.com =P

Voice chat worked quite well.  We easily carried on a conversation.  There was a definite echo though, so the ambient noise cancellation works just about as well as other microphones with the "feature"

When in each others towns there wasn't much to do together directly.  We recreated the "fishing competition" from the press conference... in that we each tried to catch a single visible fish.  Wasn't that entertaining.

There doesn't appear to be any way to go to the city with others, as the bus says "It won't be coming any time soon."

The whole process works just like the DS game... one person has to open their gate up and wait for the other to come.  The game saves every time someone new enters... all that jazz.

Now that we're connected we'll see what happens with the few WiiConnect 24 features that are in the game.

Also, for those wondering about the auction house part of the city... it has a guy saying it won't start until the 15th... so I haven't been able to do anything with that yet.

Pale, I heard that the game also has a  firmware update did you have to update your Wii if so did you notice any noticeable changes. I have a feeling its for Wii Speak to be recognized.

Yeah it did do an update... and I looked around to try and figure out what it was for and didn't notice anything.

The option you need to push to redeem the Wii Speak Channel code still isn't even in the Wii Shop Channel.

Probably because they are going to do a Wii Shop upgrade in Dec, think about it for a second Pale. Animal Crossing in Europe comes out in Dec 6, Opera 2.0 supposedly comes out in Dec with supposed Wii Speak functionality which is like 2 - 3 weeks after AC in US comes out.

OMFG this game is driving me bananas.  I want another console AC game VERY VERY BADLY because AC on a handheld just doesn't do it for me.  But Mario is right, this game is just one giant scam!  I can just put my original AC disk in my wii and the experience wont be a whole lot different.

You shouldn't be complaining. You got Wild World for free.

OOh Nice, I'll try to get out to one over the weekend. I asked if there was a release date just for Wii Speak and couldn't get a straight answer. "The bundle alone is hard to order" they told me. Thanks, Maxi!
