In my second play through I beat the 8 bosses in 50 mins. And to correct myself I beat the game the first time at 4 hours and 30 min.
Maxi is dead. I killed him and took his posts and changed genders.

I completed my first speed run yesterday.  Total play time was 38:19.

I'm pretty pleased with this time.  I know I could pretty easily reduce that by about 5, but that's about it.  There weren't any places that slowed me down dramatically.

According to the Wii leader boards, the best clear time is 22 minutes.  I have no idea how this is possible.  YouTube doesn't have any full game speed runs yet, so if anyone knows of any please let me know.

Seriously I haven't found this game to terribly difficult. UNTIL you get to the Wily stages. WTF is with this **** about not being able to save in the stage select screen?! I HATE having to REBUY all my items everytime I give up/die in the Wily stages. AND WHY CAN'T I SAVE BETWEEN 'EM or SOMETHING?

It would be so much better if they just made the stages harder, but I could save between 'em and my **** was replenished. But I have to take 30 minutes to but rush and hope I can make it through.

BTW, I must have wasted like freakin' 50% of my reserve items on the Yellow/Green devil left overs. BS

Rouge:  Use 2 save slots as Wily saves with all your credits.  When you try to beat the same buy all your items you need, and then go into battle.  If you lose...go to the other save and play a level you can easily beat and earn more credits and save with all your credits stored up again.

That way you don't have to spend forever earning all your credits back.

Urk, I don't think I'm going to beat the game if you can't save between Wily stages. Why the **** are they bringing that retarded mechanism back? Why are you supposed to play through the second half of the game in one sitting?

To be fair, it only takes 15 minutes once you get good at it.  But I still agree with your point.

Well, none of the others do it. Yes, it's the way it worked in the past but it fails anyway.

Also when you play an old MM game on the VC you get the resume saves...

I bought the Endless Mode, and I must say it is really, really cool...and hard.  It is like they gave you these mini Mega Man levels that are well designed and glued together to be endless, evil.

I downloaded Protoman Mode. It's like playing with the MM4 version of Mega Man. Proto's got the slide and the Mega Buster. He has a shield that repels pea shooter-type bullets. It's cool!
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

The Endless Mode is a blast and is the best value for your money...I would recommend it first.  It is 300 points so you can get both for just 500 Wii points.

You might want to check out a video of endless mode before you buy it.  While there's certainly a lot of content there, the levels are really just a collection of screens, so the overall design feels a little cheap.

Wow, that one drop in the water area where you choose one of three shafts to fall down and if you pick the wrong one it's insta-spikedeath looked damn cheap.

Then again, Maelstrom is complaining about the overuse of instakill in MM9 anyway. I noticed a similar issue with Megaman X8, Capcom seems to see enemies more as a minor distraction while you avoid the instakill traps.

Hey! I beat this! Those last stages are hard. I stocked up completely on lives, energy tanks, and mystery tanks and took care of the problem. ;)

I didn't want to restart doing the Wily stages again so I did a lot of farming for refills at places I knew I could. In other words, my time was not so good. I timed in around 3 hours and 30 minutes!

Anyway, great Mega Man game.  I thought it was definitely better than 2. I'd score it a 9.5
