damn Dust under SP screen!!
« on: April 03, 2003, 08:55:27 PM »
I have got 2 specs of dust trapped under the screen of my new Gameboy Advance SP - it annoys me as no amount of wiping can get rid of them. I dont know how it got there - anyone have the same problem and/or a possible solution?

Shall I take my SP back you think? or am I being an arse?!!

If it's interfering with game play or just plain annoys you take it back. It's not like the things are cheap so if it's not up to your standards take it back. Although I plan on getting an SP at some point if I see one dust speck on it even if it's on the edge or something I will definitely be taking it back to the store and exchanging it for a different one.

The first SP I purchased had dust under the screen.  I wasn't going to make a stink about it, but I figured that I spent a $100 for a product free from defect.  I don't think you are being an 'arse'.  If the dust is interfering with your enjoyment of games, by all means, you have a right to take it back.

I've got the same problem. Asked the very same question at the IGN boards and got flamed.. oh well.
I'd return it if I were you. I don't think I can though, as i bought it from an internet store
It annoys me a lot..

Good thing they allowed you to return it- I know a lot for game retailers that would consider dust too trivial to replace. Hope you anjoy your new SP.

I just bought a Game Boy Advance SP today; I hope mine will not have what many of you are referring to as "dust spots". In the event that my platium GBA SP does, I could try to take it back and say I bought the platium and then decided that I wanted the cobolt, just so I could have an excuse to exchange it.

Dust is evil. I likes to hide in the cracks next to the screen, then slowly wiggle its way under. I've been keeping mine in the original plastic wrapper until I can get a nice case so dust won't eek it's way in.
Am I being paranoid about this... or am I just stoned?

Dust can't get in or out, if it's there it's from the production process.  I've sent mine in as well, and Nintendo pays for the shipping.

I'm gonna have to exchange my gba either way, the sound buzzes when playing gbc games
I don't think you're being paranoid Josh, i'm also very careful with my videogame related stuff.. You know when you buy new gba or n64 games, the casette comes in a tiny plastic bag? Yep, still got every one of those =)
