I mean, on the one hand, it's a few years old, and I'm not big on rhythm games that aren't of the dancing or guitar-playing variety.

But on the other hand, Amy Winehouse seems to enjoy it.

If you already have the bongos it might be worth picking up used. Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat was much more interesting.

I certainly wouldn't hold Amy Winehouse's opinion in high regard.

i did

they were buy 2 used games (or accesories) and get one free or something like that. I got a ton of stuff that day, donkey konga 1 was one of them. later i found donkey konga 2, still looking for jungle beat though (since Icecold keeps praising it)

It is "pop", but it has a lot of soul influence. It doesn't sound like anything else out there right now (at least not that I know of).
