I found this. It is a new RPG made by Sega. It is suppose to be revealed in the September 26th issue of Famitsu.

Do we know if it has anything to do with the Wii? Knowing Sega it's probably a PS3 exclusive or something.

Monster Hunter 3 looks really good, too bad they're screwing those PSP owners. First triple A third party wii exclusive title?

I'm guessing Capcom will make a Monster Hunter 3 portable version about a year after the wii version to calm those Japanese psp owners.

Suikoden Tierkreis was just announced for US release by Konami.  I'm happy.

They won't need to when Monster Hunter 3 dominates in Japan. People bought PSP in Japan for Monster Hunter, just like they're buying 360 for Tales of Vesperia. Proof that people will actually buy hardware for one game which I guess is a good thing, because technically they can't unbuy it. Yes, they can trade it in, but that first purchase still counts as a sale.

Alright, I'm sick of waiting for better scans, so just deal with these crummy ones for a bit...

September 26th Edition

Seventh Dragon (DS)

~ Director: Kazuya Niinou (Etrian Odyssey)
~ Command-based battles
~ 4 characters in a party at one time, all of which are completely customizable
~ There are 7 classes in the game (Rogue, Mage, Fighter, Princess, Knight, Samurai, Healer)
~ For each class there are 4 different appearances
~ There are skill trees for each of the classes
~ Simple game concept: kill all the dragons
~ The stats include LIFE, MANA, ATK, POW, DEF, INT, SPD.
~ While moving around, the top screen is a top-down map view, while the bottom screen is a conquest map.

Ninokuni (DS)

~ New project from Level 5
~ The animation in the game is all by Studio Ghibli
~ There will be a book bundled with the game filled with information on various magic crests and spell recipes. This "Magic Master" book is something that the main character in the game has, and the player will need to refer to from time to time while playing the game.
~ There will be a console version of the game, but the hardware is not decided yet (come on Level 5, the answer is pretty obvious...)
~ They want the console version to offer something different for people that have already played the DS version, the selection of the hardware will be based on which is most suitable for this purpose (AGAIN, the answer is OBVIOUS...)
~ The exact same book will be packaged with the console version as well

Arc Rise Fantasia (Wii)

~ A party consist of 3 characters, and the longer the same characters stay in the party and battle, the stronger their bonds grow.  As this intimacy bond increases, there will be visible effects.
~ A single character can pull off a combination of attacks with "single connect", while multiple characters can pull off a combination attack on an enemy with "party connect".
~ If all 3 party members use a special "Excel act" attack on the same enemy, it turns into a super attack called a "trinity act" that does huge damage.

Kizuna (Wii)

Infinite Space (DS)

~ Large scale space opera RPG
~ Your character does not equip armor and swords to fight, but captains battleships in space instead
~ You collect modules for your ships to freely upgrade and customize your fleet
~ Collect crew members with their own skills and specialities to change the strategy and abilities of your fleet

Other

~ Akira Tago's Brain Exercise Vol.1 Travel Around the World Solving Puzzles (Nintendo DS / Level-5 / Spring 2009)
~ Sloane and McHale's Mysterious Story (Nintendo DS / Level-5 / 2009)
~ Level 5 is also working on an Inazuma DS sequel...

I'll update as soon as better scans come out, or when I feel like it...

Ninokuni sounds and looks absolutely brilliant...The book pack-in makes me think that the localization will be butchered, if it even is at all, though... =(

Seventh (7th, whatever) Dragon looks pretty cute, too, for what is essentially a Dragon Quest clone, and I like the custom creation...

I'm WAITING for Kizuna and Arc Rise Fantasia scans, but whoever has the scanner refuses to do it for some reason... >=|

Sounds horrible. Like players need any less incentive to ever change their characters instead of just picking a winning combination and staying with that. If it also prevents non-combatant characters from getting EXP you can be pretty damn sure no player will ever switch characters once he has decided which ones to use.

That information is far too vague to make baseless assumptions off of...

Frankly, I think RPGs have gone on far too long with not making party relationships an important part of the game...It should standard as far as I'm concerned...

Maybe. But tying it to the part of your party you use in combat is silly, that's usually determined by the game's balancing as some characters are simply better than others and when you have to choose a limited number you naturally pick the best ones. Why do RPGs insist on limiting the party size that much? If you want dynamic relationships you need good interaction dynamics too, not just "use this one in combat" or "keep talking to that character even though he just repeats one line".

They worked on some obscure monster-creating/fighting game called Rakugaki Oukoku (Graffiti Kingdom) for PS2...Not sure of anything else...

If you want dynamic relationships you need good interaction dynamics too, not just "use this one in combat" or "keep talking to that character even though he just repeats one line".

You never know, that could be included too... =)

Supposedly ZUN was working on Graffiti Kingdom toom at least Touhou Wiki lists that game as having a cameo of Reimu...

and holy crap, Level-5 should focus on finshing DQ9 before they start eighteen more projects.

If they start a new project they obviously have a team for it, most devs have enough teams to handle multiple games at the same time and it'd just be a waste of effort to throw the whole company at one game.
