I noticed the castle town has NO SECURITY WHATSOEVER.

What if Sir Lancelot decided to come knocking on our doorstep?  WHO WILL STOP THIS MENACE?

Hey the dark king just barged into town didn't he?? lol.

Lancelot's too busy killing innocent wedding guests at the Swamp Castle to bother with this castle.

Hahaha! Win!

I didn't even consider this game because $15 for the game and then up to an additional $25 or so for extra content makes me cringe.

Or just don't buy the game at all. I think that's the best bet when it comes to the entire Final Fantasy series.

Except there's not just one Final Fantasy series; they've been using that moniker to boost sales of other Square series at least as far back as Final Fantasy Adventure on the original Game Boy. For that matter, My Life as a King isn't even a real Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles game, though at least it's set in the same universe unlike FFA.

All of the games are labeled the same, regardless of the reason. It's all one big series. Most of the "main series" doesn't even relate to one another, so I'd argue that even it requires subtitles. You'd avoid having to hear stupid names like Final Fantasy X-2 then.

What was the time span between WiiWare's launch in Japan and the addition of Chime's Bikini?

Must be hard to localize a Bikini.

Chime's Shockingu Bikini is now available in Japan, which means there was a 3month gap between the DLC update and the Japan WiiWare launch.

Chime's Shockingu Bikini should be available for Yankee Otaku next month.

...So I just got this yesterday. I'm on like day 18 or 19. So far it's good the kingdom is kinda bland right now.  However, I have question, I NEED to buy the race packs to get those other races right? Should I buy that now? Or is there a better time?  I don't wanna buy them if I end up not liking the game.  INSIGHT PLZ.

Any other stuff I should buy?  besides the bikini Pro

If you want the extra races buy the bundle since its not worth it to buy them separately. Be sure to note you need to clear a dungeon to unlock the houses, the dungeons are level 8 dungeons but take up a lot of days to clear. Each races have a max limit of 5 houses and they count toward the cumulative house limit as well.

You don't need to buy additional races, period.

Their tailored abilities are HELPFUL but you can get by fine without them.

But, the best time to buy any would be as early as possible, since the sooner you finish the required dungeon to unlock them, the sooner they can level up and provide a more rounded set of adventurers.  But keep in mind you can't add them to the village if you currently have your house limite maxxed out.

do you recommend buying them? Do they add much to the gameplay?

Thanks chaos and Pro. Thats kinda what I was looking for.

So the extra races basically just provide something else to look at... haha

As adventurers grow and more dungeons are in need of clearing, the different jobs and abilities will affect the rates of aspects of "progress."

You'll eventually notice things like:
1.  Clavats are well-rounded and boring, but have the most options in terms of armor/defense
2.  early levels/dungeons involve entirely melee/warrior combat
3.  magick enemies start showing up in subsequent dungeons, and warriors prove to be defficient (read the report and figure out why GARY died or something, cuz he was raped by magick)
4.  you start employing magick users provide needed magick support
etc etc

So you have different resources to speed up certain kinds of progress (and overcome other difficulties), determining where you want to be at Day 50, Day 90, Day 200 and so on.

Lilties hit hard.
Birdmen have bestest magick.
I got Selkies because I want to look at them.  And they bring in higher amounts of spoils from battles.

Yeah... the extra races give your town some visual diversity, their houses are one-0by-one so they fit in some small places you may have left over, and since you can't change their classes, if you leave enough room in your adventuring party (remember, maximum for the entire game: 16) you can hire plenty of the other races to ENSURE a stable stock of black mages or white mages or thieves or whatnot. I personally really dig the Yukes... especially since they pull double duty since they're either randomly black or white mages.

They do give you SOME added options... but not enough to discount the fact that their main contribution is visual diversity.

Also, they say they get "wiped out." They don't "die", they limp back home and sulk in bed. If you visit them, they sulk for only one day.

And yeah, you usually skip over battle reports, but they're useful in seeing just how your adventurers are getting wiped out so that you can better construct parties or get a good idea of what you're up against.
