For $50, even if it had all the DLC and more, I would probably have considered it too much of a gamble.  For $15 I'm willing to take the chance.

I don't mind the music being MIDI but I do wish it were just a little less repetitive.

My only real problem with the game (I DO enjoy it) is that citizen patterns are the same every day. For example the white rat thing (Forget their name) always comes out of the castle at the same time. It would have been nice to have more randomization in citizen's movements each day.

It's not that the music isn't good, just that... the vast majority of the game uses one song that loops about every 30 seconds.  If that song were just a bit longer (and maybe less high-pitched) I'd be happy.

Well you're wrong. Nobody likes Moogles. THey're little shits and their presence is tearing down the entire game.

I'm kinda liking it, wondering when I can start changing my adventurer's jobs and whatnot. Only on Chapter 2.

And let's just get this sorted out. Pale said he was unlocking races around chapter 4 or so... so are they actually available at all without the download or is it around capter 4 that you can actually reach the dungeon that unlocks the buildings for them?

All the race dungeons are level 8 dungeon(You need to download the addon) but they are a pain to clear. To change jobs you need to unlock and build a gaming hall(thiefs), training hall(warriors), White Mage Academy(white mage), Black Mage Academy(Black mage).

Well i finished off all the races yesterday.  It's cool that each race starts as their best job, Lilties - Warrior, Selkies - Thief, Yukes - Black Mage...

Do Yukes ever start as a White Mage instead?

I recommend it.  I'm waiting for Crimms review to see if I disagree or not, and if I do, I'm going to write my own. :)

I can play harvest moon and I can play my sims and pikmin.  Am I getting close yet? Can you compare it to something for me?

Should go into editing tonight.  All that's left are Pro/Con and the score bits at the end.

As for the other races, they cannot change class.

I just got into the part of the game where it's taken over my life. OH GOD I want my life back. It's true that for the first 10 or so days it's slow... but .... oh god.

It's weird...the game is like one of those Japanese manager games, where you give people tasks for a day to accomplish goals, meet with varying success, then re-assign tasks for the next day. It's like a... you're managing adventurer ability, tasks, energy levels, and you do it again every 5-8 minutes. It's the perfect pace for addiction...

or boredom if you don't like these kinds of games.

Bikini. Chime.

I'd mention this in the review, but I'm sticking to a "core game only" mantra.  Otherwise I'd slam the creators (not the game) for doing this to your CHANCELLOR

My favorite character in this game is the town pervert who talks about Chime's black stockings and then says something like, "Good to see you underwear, I mean out here!"
