Okay I watched bloodworths review, it has gotten me more excited to check this out.  But I still don't know how the skiing/snowboarding is.

Okay I watched bloodworths review, it has gotten me more excited to check this out.  But I still don't know how the skiing/snowboarding is.

Well, I've only played the skiing game a few times, but found it pretty cool.  It's pretty easy, just lean left or right to steer in that direction and lean forward to speed up.  I've found that assuming an actually skiing position with knees bent helps get you into the "speed up" area.  The steering takes a bit to get used to as you will be pulling hard lefts and rights as you learn how much weight is needed to turn the right amount.  Each time I played, three times total I believe, my time increased by fairly large increments.  I haven't unlocked snowboarding yet, but will chime in when I do.

Oh yeah, the muscle training exercises will wear you out if you don't normally exercise....like me.  :(  That push up-side pose exercise is rough.

My first complaint against the "game" is that when you unlock an exercise or mini game, it only unlocks it for your profile. My friend wanted to try all the yoga poses, but she couldn't under her profile without putting in a lot of time.

Yeah, I'd have to say that's not really a valid complaint. I played for an hour tonight, you really can get a great workout from Wii Fit.

Just let her play them under your profile.  The board will tell her that the weight is very different than before, but should still allow her to try them.  Then again I could be wrong.

Also, Planks and Push up/Side planks are surpassing Lunges on the evil scale.

Push up and side plank are no problem for me, I always get 100%. The actual plank is a lot tougher.

I get 100% on the push-up / side plank too, but afterwards I collapse in a pool of personal fluids, gripping my arms and recoiling into the fetal position. It's easier to do push-ups on the ground than on the hard-as-plastic balance board.

I love Wii Fit. I've had it for a day. I hope it will make me into a better person.

I get 100% on the push up/plank, but I'm not doing the exercise perfectly.  I'm not going as low as I should on the push up part and my arm shakes a bit when I'm side planking.  My real score should be about 75% or so.  It's like when I get 100% on the Jackknife exercises because I place my feet back on the board.  When I do the actual stretch my form isn't perfect at all, so again my score should be lower.

In reality, as long as I do the exercise close to what they are asking for, I'm not overly concerned about the score.  It's nice competing against your own scores and consistency is the goal.

Exercise update:  I've unlocked about 75% of the the total exercises available and should get the rest unlocked by this weekend.  After that's complete, I'm planning on coming up with some form of a routine and stick with it.  Anyone care to join me for a pseudo online support group?  Details and specifics to follow.

Some questions about Wii Fit: when the board asks you to stand on it, and the green blob floats over the screen, is the game calibrating both your weight AND balance? It would be strange if I was left balanced during calibration, did a yoga exercise, and the game screwed up my balance score cause I shifted slightly.

Also, some of the exercises show your trainer with his/her feet all the way together. Should I emulate their stance? Some of the exercises don't seem to work when I'm standing with my feet that close. Also, I find that some single foot balance measurements are off if my foot is slightly askew; I have to place it parallel to the rectangular impression on the balance board in order to get an accurate read.

BossHog: I would definitely join a support group, cause I'm doing this every day and am feeling slightly healthier after 3 days. I do an exercise regimen in the order of the exercises: I start with yoga, and do all the exercises available (right now that's most of them) in the order of personal difficulty. Then I go and do all the strength training I can handle, doing extra ab workouts if I can. Then I do some aerobics (usually hula hoop, basic short or long run, then boxing) followed up by every balance game that I like to cool down. I might have to cut down on some yoga and strength training, cause right now I'm doing close to 50 minutes of workouts (game time) over an hour and a half period. And I haven't unlocked everything yet!

During the initializing screen and you see the green blob, if you wiggle around you will get a message saying it can't get an accurate reading and will ask you to step off and try again. It is at least measuring your weight to make adjustments to the sensitivity. My 3 year old daughter will get on while my character is in use and the system will notice the weight change and ask if its correct. If the board is not reset from my last use, her movements are not registered as accurately.

Lunges burn. I just unlocked 30 reps (I think). No way in hell am I upping the reps just yet. And if you whine at the push-up and side plank, just try the challenge a couple of times. And the most difficult part about the tricep extensions for me is just keeping my arm pointed straight up. I need to stretch more often.

I have 10 days of activities and I really haven't lost any weight. I guess I need to eat less food, but I suspect my layers of fat are transforming into muscle.

Oh, impressions of skiing and snowboarding: this really gives an idea of how much work it takes to manuever a course. Its not physically demanding, but the concentration on keeping your turns clean is intense. There needs to be a course with halfpipes and tricks.

I'm going to come up with a large group plan with a downloadable chart and everything for people who want to join in with me.  I would like to see all WiiFit owners on this board join in, but I'm not going to shove it down anyones throat.  I'm going to try and start the whole thing on June 16th.

In the mean time, get used to the exercises and try and unlock them all so that we will be ready to go come the 16th.  I'll lay out more information as I figure out the best way to do this properly.

I still don't have this game... but everyone I meet asks me if I do. I should've bitten the bullet long ago and got it at a gamestop... grrr... I was hoping to get it from familyvideo but they're only selling it in a bundle with the console with the price jacked up another hundred bucks. I can't really blame them given the popularity of the item.
