It can accurately measure weights up to 330 pounds and it can handle weights of up to twice that without breaking.

Ok that settles it then. That really was the only worry I had, even though the inspiration came from Sumo wrestlers, I figured Nintendo would be cheap and cut back on it's capabilities.

No use, I just asked my Mom directly whether I should buy this or not and she told me yes, to please buy it for her and dad. I can't disobey a direct order.

*sigh*

I guess it's time to start making daily walks to gamestop...

My Wife got my Wii Fit for my anniversary.  I enjoy it.  I was actually only 2 pounds shy of my ideal weight.  So if I weight in the morning I automagically make my goal.  Though I do have to say Advance Step is mean.  The green steps in particular I just really can't figure out how to get them consistently registering.  Like the dodging in Rhythm Boxing, (which I thoroughly enjoy even at the Expert setting.)

I had my pace setter Mi change in the middle of the run, instead of following the person I had to switch to following a dog. The next day it started off with the dog. Unexpected stuff. The course has also changed. Its good to see someone thought of that stuff.

I finally received my Wii Fit yesterday.
It's pretty interesting so far. The yoga exercises are killing me though.
I'm also thinking of getting one of those silicone sleeves for the Balance Board.

I've stopped putting much weight into the rating the game gives me, some exercises easily give full points even when you totally fail at them.

Hee hee hee.

So what's this jogging thing people keep bringing up?  Are you really jogging in place on the board?  It seems like repeatedly stomping on it would be a bad thing.

Jogging in place anywhere with the wiimote in your pocket.

Yep, you put the wiimote in your pocket and jog on the spot. It may be because my feet are kinda deformed (drop foot on the right) and sore already or because I don't wear shoes but it seems to me that jogging on the spot strains the feet more than regular jogging. Also I think baggier pants can have issues with the Wiimote not registering the steps properly.

I jog around my apartment instead of standing in place.

The Balance Board gets dirty even if I wash my feet before I use it; there's no way I'm letting everyone else who tries Wii Fit going on without socks. I wear tiny little socks that cover just the soles of my feet when I exercise.

I was doing the downward facing dog posish the other day and the Balance Board actually moved on my carpet. I couldn't keep it steady. ANNOYING.

KDR: Some of the ratings, as you know, are useful (I think most of the yoga scores really do reflect how well you're doing the position). But I'm totally with you: I can get 100s on some of these things really easy, even though I'm weaksauce in general.

One KEY thing to exercising and doing yoga with Wii Fit is to have a friend or family member watch you. There are some exercises where I could get a really high score, only to realize that I was doing it entirely wrong. I spend half of my time with Wii Fit now watching my trainer and making sure I have the same posture. Exercising in front of a mirror is another solution to this problem.

Especially tricky are the last two strength exercises that involve the Wii Remote. I have no idea HOW I'm supposed to be holding the thing, so how do I know if my score is really accurate? I can twist my wrist around a bunch and get a different read from the system, too.

This "game" is funny: it gave me a 49 years old age the first time and 25 after 32 minutes of using it.
Well, I need to go and practice now!

One thing for me is my weight has been tracking upwards, instead of down. I think its just my body building muscle, but its just disappointing to see it happen. I've even started running for real and stopped eating junk food. Oh well, Wii Fit is still fun.

Stop running and eat junk food again and your weight goes down. Hey, worked for me!

It has consistently been sliding up? If you've been focusing more on the push-ups and such then it is very likely that perhaps you are just putting on muscle. Muscle weighs a helluva lot more than fat, which is one of the reasons BMI is a bogus system. If you want to simply burn fat, aerobic exercise is much preferred, even if the selection is limited in Wii Fit itself. Fat will come off evenly, it can't be targeted like muscle building can be. Of course, muscles use quite a bit more energy while at rest, so they're good to have around even if your sole goal is mere weight loss. ;)

Finally unlocked the last to exercises, Free Run and Free Step.  Can't wait to give those a try.

Has anyone else unlocked all the exercises or tried them on various difficulty levels yet?  I only ask because I'm trying to track all of the information on the exercises and create a spreadsheet with all of the pertinent information.  I've looking for minutes earned (ie. the piggy minutes) on adv/expert difficulty levels and the # of reps for said levels as well.  Thanks for any extra help and keep on being fit.

Oh, if anyone is interested, here's a comic that my friends and I did regarding Wii Fit:

My first wiifit age? 40. I just got the "game" yesterday. So now I'm supposed to adapt my balance machanics to their definition of balance.

I'm not sure but aren't minutes earned mostly dependent on the time you spent on it? I think I got 2 minutes for a lv1 jog once (I usually get 3).
