The beginning of the end? Problems with my 360
« on: May 05, 2008, 06:02:27 PM »
As some of you may remember last December my first 360 died a horrible red ring of death. After many headaches I finally got a shiny, new Elite model. Its been working fine...till now...I think.

Yesterday, when I was using it to watch videos it kept restarting. I checked both the power box and the plugs to see if anything was loose. So after re-inforcing the cables it stopped doing it. But about 2 hours later it started doing it again.

Any idea if this is the beginning of the end of my new Elite model or is the problem with the power supply?

So you've been an Xbox 360 owner for ten months and you're having problems with your what--third system?  I'm sorry, but I simply must take this moment to laugh at your pain.

Do you have any friends nearby with a 360?  See if you can borrow their power supply for a bit and try that.  (Alternatively, you can loan them your power supply and see if they have problems.)
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

This is my second console. I did have a third one, but that one was already dead to begin one.

Right now I am watching some videos and nothing so far.

I thought you had another console for like a day.

Pap, what color is the LED on the power brick?? It should be a steady non blinking green when its on and it should be yellow/amber/orange(whatever you want to call it) when its on standby, if its red then the power brick is fried.  Where do you usually keep the power brick.

I think what you should do is position the brick where you can see the LED while the 360 is on and you should see if the LED starts acting weird.
