Huh, when I went there for the Phantom Hourglass lunch, everything seemed well organized. Nobody had to play the game, participate in the tournament, or get a photo with Link to buy the game - just stand in line.

I think they must have been overwhelmed by the number of people that showed up for the event and panicked. All those "scavenger hunt" activities were just ways to make sure the sales counters didn't get mobbed by people.

Did they try to sell you some Egyptian cotton along with the game?

My, my. What a trouble. Well, at least you got your game. Maybe this is emulating a bit of stubborness Nintendo has sometimes: "You came for the event, why would you only just want to drop by and buy the game when this is supposed to be a special time?"

Or something wacky like that. Kidding around!

I hear it's pretty good when dipped in chocolate.

Sounds like a plotline for Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Aw man, you went!!! That could of been me sitting next to the legendary bucket hat and pwning/getting pwned in MK!

i would of went but i overslept after a long night of having se... err uh.. no needs for details. i just overslept and missed the event.

As far as your trouble trying to get the game, maybe its a new thing their doing cuz any other even i've been to you were free to NOT participate.

I went there for the Super Mario Galaxy launch and everything was pretty well organized. Hell, I even got a free t-shirt courtesy of the seemingly-out-of-place DJ.
In retrospect, I'm kind of glad I missed this asinine event. Just imagine what NWS would've been if they had a Brawl launch there. Considering that would probably have been gigantic, I'd imagine you'd probably have to play the game for an hour before you could go in the store and play in a tournament and then get your game.

It wasn't that it was disorganized.  If anything it was TOO organized.

I can see using that as a plan for people that wanted something to do while they waited in line, but when it became obvious that they COULD handle the crowd fine (which was obvious) they should have broken off a separate line for people that just wanted to buy the game.

And yeah EasyCure, I wore the hat so you could recognize me.  =P  Sadly, I didn't run into any NWR readers.

I'm sorry man, but I don't think you can operate the Wii Wheel without an official Mario Kart License.  I'm afraid I'm going to have to confiscate your copy.

Just bumping this to add insult to injury...

I finally wore my free t-shirt today.  I specifically asked for an extra large.  They apparently were fine with saying "OK" and then putting a medium in my bag.

Can I have your shirt?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
