I played the demo online tonight. There is no demo for the single player aspect. It was an enjoyable outing. I think Yahtzee is right on the money when he says the characters are like a couple of 8 year olds running around playing war. The first time you you slap hands with the other player to say 'Good job' is a funny thing. Now I wish I could do that in Halo.

Anyone buy the game? Is it worth considering for some online coop play?

I rented it for PS3 and did NOT like it, though I didn't get a chance to play the multiplayer. The single player mode is extremely linear and the AI is not all that hot, which is dissapointing because the team AI sounded promising. More than once my partner would try to recover me right in front of enemies firing on me instead of dragging me behind something safe.

Yeah, I would not consider getting the game for the single player mode. You should try the online coop, at least the demo.

I guess I don't want to pay $60 for a game that is really 'half' a game. But those damn 'hardcore' gamers are going to turn this game into another million seller and tell EA they like paying more for less.

I borrowed it from a friend. The next day I was already a bit more than halfway through the game (after only about 3 or 4 hours of combined play time) and just couldn't take it any more. It was one of the most mundane and repetitive experiences I've ever had playing a game. I took it out of my 360 at that point and continued on with Bully.

Nothing against being hardcore. But that doesn't excuse irresponsible buying habits. Purchasing a product means rewarding those who made it. Buying it below retail says 'I want it but the quality did not justify the price', or 'I'm a cheap bastard'...

Edit: Yes, the first level did seem repetitive, but I guess I was kept busy trying to keep track of which of us was hotter during the fire fights. It was fun though if the whole game is exactly like that then that would get boring after a while.
