Just bought my 2nd Cube
« on: March 31, 2003, 05:48:04 PM »
Well it became official in the early afternoon of March 31st that my beloved Cube had indeed broken down under the intense weight of the masterpiece that is Metroid Prime and Zelda.  I guess the few months in between just wasnt enough to recover.  Im sure the college apartment didnt help either.  However, this afternoon a new platinum Cube was placed securely in the spot of my old friend and has me back playing my beloved Wind Waker.  Soon enough my other precious will be repaired and i will have two Cubes at my disposal, definite score!!!

hahah perfect!! then you could have 8 player (in some respects) super smash bros. melee etc!! have like relegations and promotions, the 4th player from console 1 goes to console 2 and 1st player goes to console 1 etc
that would be so fun ^_^

well.. you would need two tv's but thats a minor problem im sure

My family had to buy to GameCubes... Things were starting to get out of hand... six people, one cube.  You do the math. If you add in friends, and visiting relatives, sum verges on infinity

I'm actually dead serious. The demand for GameCube was so high we had to get another one. I'm gonna be getting a couple broadband adapters and some cables for LAN play, as soon as Nintendo makes some LAN capable games.

I got 2 Gamecubes.  Got my first at the Japanese launch, got my second (pre-modded Spice) not long before Mario Sunshine was released in Japan.  Total price:  $600.

while LAN ought to be awesome id never buy a second cube but rather buy and xbox for extra cash, twice the same console is ridiculous unless you own all systems and/or are rich

Why not just call the Nintendo help line?  It's not normal for a GCN to just die.

Because dude, it costs $80 to get my Cube fixed.  I can buy a new one and get a free game for $60 more, plus i get another controller.  If you ask me that is what you call a deal.  Besides, being away at college makes it hard to bring my Cube home when I have short breaks.  Now i just have to grab a game or two and i can keep myself busy when im home for the weekend.  I know the cube is extremely portable, but its still a pain to pull apart all the connections just to play for a weekend.  Now i dont have that concern once i get my old one fixed.

you don't make sense.  you don't want to get the old one fixed for $80 when a new one would be 150 with a game and controller...  but you're going to get it fixed later??

Yeah, im not sitting around for 2+ plus weeks for it to get fixed.  Zelda just came out and im starting to get deep into the game.  I can't wait around that long.  It makes sense if you think about it.

My copy of Wind Waker was delayed. . . if it's not in the mail tomorrow, I'm going to officially go insane.
