gamecube audio - such thing as optical or coax?
« on: March 31, 2003, 02:31:45 PM »
just got a gamecube and don't know too much about it.  i ordered the component cables from nintendo.com b/c i have a hdtv.  i know with the xbox monster component cables you have the option of connecting to your AV receiver via optical audio cable for dolby digital 5.1.  are there any other connection options for gamecube audio other than LR RCA type stereo cables?

RCA-type stereo connections are all there is, and is meant for AV receivers that support 5.1 Dolby Pro Logic II.

I wish they did but recievers don't have an extra optical input to use for a game system.
it would be cool because then you could get true rear channels and an LFE channel.

The Q does, I believe.  But I don't think that helps your situation.
