While it was generic and felt  like a call of duty except with Aliens it's pretty good for a launch title I enjoyed it more than Halo 3 in most cases.

This is one of the few FPS that I would say Halo 3 beat with an ugly stick. The multiplayer was atrocious and the single player was just as exciting.

I don't know GP I thought Halo 3 was dull as well I keep trying to get into it, but its boring since I never found anything special about it. The only reason I have halo 3 is because I bought there was nothing else better to get at Toys R Us during their Buy 2 get 1 free sale back in October. (I got Orange box(360), WarHawk(PS3), and Halo 3 (free)).

While I do agree with your multiplayer complaint on Resistance:FoM that its generic. I find Halo 3's multi as equally generic but slightly more fun.

Even if the first R:FoM is generic I wouldn't count out the sequel just yet since the features of the sequel just by itself sound really impressive and I think Insomniac really wants to give other PS3 online FPS and 360 FPS and maybe even Wii FPS a run for  their money. And I really do think Insomniac can be a much better developer than Bungie can.

60 player online and 8 player online Co-Op sounds really good, especially with the familiarity of N. America as the backdrop

It looks to me like the only reason Resistance even exists is to provide Sony fanboys with a list of numbers why PS3 > Halo 3, completely forgetting that a game needs fun more than random numbers.

Resistance? Isn't that what consumers are doing with all those PS3s on the stores shelves? They should change the name to "Please Buy a PS3". My Best Buy *still* has the majority of the 185+ systems that they had piled up for Black Friday. I'd say they still have at least 170 of them.

Well it is true but I really think Killzone 2 will be a flop and I don't think Resistance 2 will be a system seller, MGS 4 and whenever the hell FF XIII will come out will be the system seller but by then its too late since the PS3 is like this generation's gamecube  except with not a whole lot of good exclusive games.

It is too bad that Insomniac is so, well, uncreative. They are a great developer when it comes to the technical side of things with polished gameplay, and while I LOVE games like Ratchet and Clank for PS3 they are far from creative. Makes me wonder if Sony has them on a tight leash when it comes to what kinds of games they can develop, if they do, I wish they would let up on it and let them explore their talents a bit more. They could be a great asset if they can get some creativity flowing and not rehashing the same formula (and R&C is the biggest example of this) or trying to emulate Bungie.

That actually reminds me of Naughty Dog even though Uncharted was critically acclaimed I don't think its the best PS3 game. I'm sure its a good game on its merits like Resistance is I think both suffer from carbon copy syndrome from other games in the same genre.

Yeah Naughty Dog is pretty bad at it as well, leading me to believe that Sony is the problem not them. Uncharted, whether people want to admit it or not, was basically Gears of War in the jungle right down to almost identical control methods and conveniently placed barriers.

Well TY I never really was a PC gamer and my primary computer is a 2.16GHz dual core Macbook. And I know that PC games don't really like macbooks especially with integrated graphics cards.

It's surprising how many people have high hopes for Killzone 2 since KZ1 was overhyped crap. Some even believe the KZ2 trailers are real when KZ1 had so much faking going on. Shouldn't the default stance for a sequel to a sucky game be "it'll suck" and wait if the dev can prove you wrong?

That is the stance I take. Purty trailers no longer impress especially coming from Sony who has deceived over and over again when it comes to trailers (Lair anyone?). I don't expect the game to be anything but average or slightly above. Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm not that optimistic.

I think most people just assume the devs will keep what was good about the first game and fix what was wrong so the second will be awesome.  That's the way it is with Geist and Red Steel.
