I imagine it will come out for NEXUS, but who knows?  Other than Hal and Nintendo and everything. . . I want a smash bros with a waterpack mario, staffed Fox (or Krystal), and updated Samus and Link.  Hoo yeah!

Of course it is, SSBM sold tons.  I see no reason why Nintendo would choose to wait until it's next console for a new game.  Nintendo have said themselves they want to shorten the time between games, and there are tons of things they could do with the series with the whole Nintendo universe to work with.

Well, SSB:M was one of the best/fastest selling Gamecube games and certainly one of the most critically acclaimed.  I'm just worried that HAL has nothing to improve on anymore.  I mean, once you hit the top, it's a lot faster to just fall down.

The only way they would be able to improve SSB is to do a crossover with another gaming company, like Sega or Namco, sort of like the feature IGN did a couple of months ago.
If they didn't do that, they would have to drastically change the formula to make it not seem like just a rehash.

i want the chick from Super Fiacom detective club part 2 to be a character thats like the coolest trophy in the game just because of the name eheheh, i think either a Chozo statue or Ridley would be nice additions to the SSB series, i would have liked to see dixie kong too but that wont happen as RARE own her dont they?

a cross over game with sega, maaan... that would sell a truck load, but would be a risky red tape filled venture for Nintendo/Sega i imagin, but like... if Namco can use Link in Soul Caliber 2, then why not eh?

a weird addition to the game would be to have each of nintendo's consoles battle it out NES, SNES, N64, GCN, Gameboy, pocket, colour, advance, SP and maybe things like the 64DD and the virtual boy

There would be one great way to improve it, and that is to make a Virtua Fighter 4 type of bot thing that you can train. You can make it like you. Taht way, you can fight against yourself, and set your bot against a friend's!

I don't care what the name is, I'm just using the term.  You know what I'm talking about.

There are definite improvements: updates, new characters, better secret characters, etc.

I think it would be great to see a SSB game on the GBA. It's perfect, especially with the four player-ness of it, and it's portable!

You can improve the game by putting in transformations with charachters. Think about this, young link can press down/left/right on his c - stick to put on a mask (ala Majoras Mask) and transform into a goron(strong)/zora(mediocre)/deku(agile) all with there own special attributes. If you want to turn back hit c -stick up. Mario with his teddy-bear suit(strong), cape(mediocre), and waterpack(agile).....and it goes on and on for each character. Like Ganondorph morphs into Ganon, phantom, ganondorf the warrior or something (make him smaller, lighter sword faster?)..........

You guys get the point

Come on guys there is one HUGE way they could make the next Smash Bros. a lot better......ONLINE PLAY!!!!!! The game could launch an online strategy for nintendo and it would sell like hot cakes. Just that alone would be worth the purchase, but additions like more characters and some more multi player modes and we would have a beutiful game.

Super Smash Bros. Melee 2

This killer title needs:

-Online play
-more moves for original characters (ie: deku leaf for young link, flamethrower for samus, waterpack for mario, etc)
-more Nintendo characters: Capt. Olimar, a red Pikmin, a human from Animal Crossing, etc)
-brand crossovers! Sega, Capcom

That idea of Nintendo consoles duking it out is awesome.
This game should just be all whacked out with crazy attacks and have more options for gameplay, like a 3D arena, story mode, etc.

Lets all email Nintendo guys!

Yeah, and they could.......... add new characters!!! Imagine being able to play as:
CEL SHADED LINK!! (he would kick so much ass)
Mario
Luigi
Wario
Waluigi
Toad
Peach
Birdo
Daisy
Diddy
Olimar
Dr Mario
Yoshi
Donkey Kong
Tingle
Caption Falcon
Ganondorf
Ganon
Falco
Fox
Ness
Ice Climbers
Kirby
Samus
Zelda
Shiek
Link
Young Link
King De De De
Pichu
Pikachu
Jigglypuff
Mewtwo
Game & Watch
Marth
Roy
Mumbo
Bottles
Krystal
Peppy
Master Hand
Skull Kid
Baby Mario
Sonic
Tails
Knuckles
Jill Valentine
Chris Redfield
Rebecca Chambers
Saber Man
Kid Icarus
Paratrooper
Goomba
Water Mario
Vacuum Luigi
Fox with staff
Super Monkey Ball monkeys
Boo
Saria
Donkey Kong Jr
A Pikmin
Moon (from Majora)
Slippy
Megaman
Bomberman
More Pokemon
Lakitu
Shy Guy
Chao (Sonic)
Andy and Max (from Advance Wars)
Golden Sun characters...
PN.0.3 Girl
Viewtiful Joe
Alex Roivas
Pious Augustus
Solid Snake....
um..... Spongebob Squarepants....?

And they could add a level editor, new items like Mario's FLUDD and Luigis Vacuum Cleaner, add Sega or Capcom levels/characters, and all the stuff Nintendo comes up with that none of us could ever dream about (cmon, who saw Pikmin coming?). I hope SSB3 comes out on the next Nintendo console, which is NOT called the nexus.

EDIT: Dark Link, must you always use capital letters? Its annoying...

EDIT 2: And im not liking the idea of online Smash Bros, online would be better for like Mario Kart or Pokemon, but Smash Bros would have too much lag and slowdown... In my opinion...

EDIT 3: When i say Water Mario, im not talking about Mario with a waterpack, i mean that guy from Super Mario Sunshine who looked like Mario but was made out of water, i think he's name was Shadow Mario. (i cant believe i bothered to edit this)

Nintendo probably have plans to make another sequel but it isn't high on their priority list.

Online play right now would be the worst idea ever.

Fighting games online are so much more difficult than racing games.  Especially a game like Super Smash Bros.  In a racing game, the only data that needs to be transferred is your racer, his/her position, his/her speed, and what item they're carrying.  In a fighting game, every single polygon of data must be established (where it begins, where it ends, at which point it connects), in addition to the fact that the slightest lag would kill the fun.

What do I want to see?  An Arcade SSB:M, with memory card capabilities not unlike F-Zero.
