Has anyone else got this game? This is the game that's currently keeping me up at nights, lodged firmly in my DS. I got it knowing it was just a little bit like Trauma Center, but with some melodrama storyline involving cute nurses and forceful doctors.

I wasn't disappointed.

Within a MINUTE of me booting the game up, my boss was hitting on me. I also got a rundown of an EXTENSIVE back history for my character, almost as if this was just the latest sequel in a long-running game series and I had to be caught up to speed.

In between the relatively few surgeries, there's plenty of Phoenix Wright style conversations and investigations to be had, checking up on patients, co-workers, and other people in order to advance the story. This game goes everywhere, from pop stars and their enraged fans, to tropical islands, to crotchety old men who like to pinch the bums of their women nurses, to the main character's newly discovered biological domineering father who also heads up the hospital and wants to draft me into his cancer research studies.

Oh, and the surgeries are more based on reality. They're not real surgeries, but at least you're not chasing down sci-fi mutating alien-like viruses like you are in Trauma Center. At least here, you do appendectomies!

Oh, and you get to DIAGNOSE characters using your eyes, a stethoscope, and your hands. This causes some awkward situations where you have to touch shy patients, making this a little Doki Doki Shinpan lite. (Not really, but if it makes Bill buy the game, success!)

AND you actually take ultrasounds and X-Rays!

I'm not done with the game yet, and there are some issues (Like this being one of the few games that makes me curse small innacuracies in my touch screen calibration, or makes me doubt if my touch screen is working altogether, a problem I've never had in a game before), but I DEFINITELY see this game as something that people whove' enjoyed Trauma Center or Phoenix Wright should take a look into.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

This looks right up my street.

But. Seriously now. February 8 2008?

Is that the release date where you live?

Originally in the states it had a release date in June. Then it got pushed back to August. Then it got pushed back to later in August. Then early october. Then late october. I was starting to despair that the game would NEVER come out when it surprised me by coming the same day COD4 DS arrived!

Beat the game!

... and I got the worst possible ending. OMG, this game will send you running to Gamefaqs afterwards so that you can ferret out all the sidequests, ways to get the "good endings" and work out how to tie up all the loose ends.

Well maybe two people will be running to Gamefaqs because the rest of us have no interest. Hehe
