Burnout 2: Point of Impact Release Date!
« on: March 26, 2003, 06:01:18 AM »
Well, I looked everywhere in this message board to see if anyone posted this and found no posts.

Apparently the release date has been bumped up by almost a whole month by acclaim. EB and Gamestop now list the game as ETA 04/08/03 which is the second Tuesday in April! This is up from the 05/02/03 release date noted before.

Good news indeed!

Thanks for the heads up man, now all I have to do is find a way to come up with another $50. I never had this problem on N64......its a problem I enjoy having though.

Burnout 2 is an excellent game, to the people who only own a cube: Dont pass this game up just because its not made by Nintendo, its a really good game, ive had it on PS2 for months now, and its my favourite game on PS2, the graphics are beautiful, the racing is extreme, the gameplay is addictive and easy to get used to, i think i might even get Burnout 2 on GC as well.

I just watched the video preview of Burnout 2 on IGN and they said that there are more crash areas in xbox and cube versions than the ps2. Coming later can be very good.

Yeah I'm definately getting Burnout 2. I was going to get the original but since part 2 was going to be released like 4 months later for the PS2 I felt kinda cheated. I like the new additions.

Kinda sucks that Splinter Cell is also being released the same day. I wonder which game might drop in price first

It appears that Burnout 2 will be retailing for $39.99 and Splinter Cell will be $49.99 - I have been looking forward to Burnout 2 since I first played the original. Burnout was simply the greatest (car) racing game I have ever played. Burnout 2 looks to be even better!

Did anyone else catch this from Acclaim's press release:

"Burnout 2: Point of Impact is currently available for the Nintendo GameCube and the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system at suggested retail prices of $29.99 and $49.99, respectively."

Can anyone confirm if this is the new price? I see it everywhere for $39.99... a savings of $10.00 would be sweet.
