Another reason to be jealous of Japan and thankful for eBay
« on: November 15, 2007, 08:00:28 PM »
As if there weren't enough cool things available from Club Nintendo as it was, they're coming two at a time now.

http://club.nintendo.jp/rank2007/index.html

First up is a Wii Classic Controller that looks exactly like a Super Famicom controller, followed up by a 2-disc 81-song fully orchestrated Super Mario Galaxy Soundtrack. Come on, NoA, the infrastructure's in place with MyNintendo, give us some of this stuff!

Mother of god. What the hell is up with this!?!? Why does Japan get awesome stuff and we get CRAP? NoA, seriously hook us up. There is no excuse to NOT have a system like the Japanese system. I have like 100 items registered on myNintendo and I think I should get a little back like our Japanese friends do.

It's cool and all, but how is it ANY different than the classic controller?  I mean, honestly.  It's probably going to cost 30-50 bucks to import and you can get a classic controller for 20 that will be MORE functional because it can play N64 games.

That said, the Mario Sound track would be sweet.

If it was an N64 controller, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.

I agree with Kairon.  An N64 controller would be really something but the classic controller already is pretty similar to a SNES controller.  There is demand from a functional point of view for an N64 controller but a SNES controller is just neato.  It's a fun idea and I wish Nintendo would offer it but I'd like to be able to buy a classic controller for ALL the VC classic system or at least adapters for the real controllers.  Hell Nintendo could make a big bundle with specially made vintage controllers targeted to hardcore gamers.  You could get some people to buy SIX TIMES the controllers they usually would.

Plus imagine having those big Neo-Geo joysticks?  F*ck yeah!

I would like Nintendo to offer us more cool stuff.  I haven't registered games in years because I don't see the f*cking point.  Why give them free marketing statistics for nothing?

I thought it was an actual Wii classic controller, colored to look SFC-ish.  This is neat, but not as cool as it could have been...

Well, it's free. And retro. I wouldn't ebay or import it, but it'd be a pretty awesome gift if they offered it here.

I'd also love an N64 controller for the Wii. Why doesn't somebody make one?

Edit: Somebody makes an N64-Gamecube adapter, at least. A bit pricey, but it exists. http://shop.raphnet.net/products/n64_to_wii/index.php?category=

A Super Famicom/Super Nintendo style Classic Controller would be significantly better for SNES games that use the shoulder buttons. Having to press all the way in and click the shoulder buttons on the current model is annoying. And I'm sure that the SMG soundtrack will appear on bittorrent once it comes out.

Mashiro? What, is that just a force of habit or is it a sign of a more serious reading comprehension problem?

The controller looks good... for a Super Famicon controller.  Unfortunately my nostalgia is such that only the purple buttoned Super Nintendo controller would suffice.

You were one of the lucky ones, because now there's no more preorders available for the rest of us.

Well now I'll wait until someone uploads the CD's online and then I'll just burn my own copies.

Yeah, 30 is a bit much. If you're willing to spend that, you might as well go for the real deal...
