Check out the story in the Wind Waker instruction booklet.

First sentence of the second paragraph: "And then a day came when a fell wind began..."

"Fell" wind? Pretty sure they meant "foul."  Although, admittedly, it's incredibly hard to believe such a typo could exist.  You'd have to really screw the word up and then just blindly let spellcheck do your job for you to really let this happen.

This is right up there on the OoT box, when it said "environonments," or something to that effect.

I must find a way to use "burninate" more in my daily speech.

fell can be used in that context, it is more old english though.  It refers to a change in times for the worse.  To be litteral, a sudden gust of change that sends the society around it into a downard spiral.  It could also be a typo.

Mmm, ok, dictionary.com agrees.

Still an odd choice.  BUt then again, "hotdog" would have been an odd choice too, so I guess have no real complaint here.

That is hilarious.  One of the first things I did when I got my copy today was scour the back cover for any misspellings and/or bad grammar.  When i have a little more time I hope to read the instruction book carefully for any errors.  If there are any, it would be GOLD (hahah, get it?).

K.  I'm wrong indeed.  If you watch the intro, "fell wind" is used again.

Again I note that had other words been used, it would have been odd.  Like "spankamotron" or "jiggly."  Please note this for your records.

Everyone has seen Lord of the Rings - remember when Saruman is causing the avalanche, and Gandalf (or is it Legolas?) says "There is a fell voice on the air!"? Same thing. "fell" can be an adjective.

Even better, it can be used as a present-tense verb.  For example... "he will fell thy enemies" or some such nonsense.

Straight out of the old GB Jurassic Park game instruction manual:

"(Velociraptors) can fell a fully-grown man."

THe intro was trying to be very lord of the ringsy fantasy esque, which I feel validated the use of the word "fell".  I thought the intro was very well done.  The legend has me intrigued, and really gets me into the story of the game.

The entire game has a middle ages feel IMO, with the intro music, some of the language used, and some of the artwork like the boat.

Very cool indeed.

Yeah, "fell" is often used by people when they want to sound smart and mysterious-like.

the music in the intro was very well done. It really reminded me of the show I saw in Vegas at the Excalibur.
On a side note, seeing Link move with the sword with this graphical style is simply breath taking.

I am selfishly taking up this space to say this is my new favorite game with a bagillion gazillion miles in between the next.

Read Shakespeare's plays written in Middle English and you'll learn all kinds of new ways to use words (or even obsolete words).  Imagine that... stuff you read in English class was actually useful for something.
