EB gettin Nintendo friendly

Hey all,

I don`t know if this is going on everywhere but I have noticed a good change at EB for Nintendo fans.  About 2 weeks ago I noticed that Nintendo stuff has now moved to the front of the store rather than the back like it used to be.  Also the display windows are littered with Nintendo stuff.

Finally, I have called EB lately to findout about Zelda and they always answer  "EB, your Nintendo Headquarters" or something to that effect.

I think this is a welcome change for any Nintendo fan.  I always thought that Microsoft had a hold on that store but I guess I was wrong.

What do you guys think?

Nintendo is more than likely paying them to do that since I've heard other stores are doing the exact same thing. It's nice to see that someone other than Micro$oft is throwing money around. It also shows that Nintendo is maybe realizing that "advertising isn't necessary" doesn't work.

actually what EB does is takes a month and tries to sell a certain product, company.  Sometime it is the home for Sega Sports, sometimes Xbox, sometime PS2, Sometimes Midway, Etc.  Of course this month is Nintendo month, what with the release of Pokemon  (which i must say total rocks, my favorite so far), and of course Zelda.  So that is why we are seeing this
Fry's Grandma in the past-"Killed., In an atomic Blast.... No sir I don't take much comfort in the fact the trigger function worked perfectly."
Fry-"There there, if it makes you feel any better, his body was vaporized, so there's no chance of him coming back as a zombie."
Fry's Grandma-"I'm no

I've seen EB in St. Louis changes the merchandising plan every other month or so and I would imagine the layout is a corporate decision.  Actually, EB nearest me has moved Nintendo to the back again.  No doubt when the layabouts get on the ball, it'll be moved up front again.  In June it will be across the store and back 3 shelves, etc

Funny thing is my best buy toook all the other consoles down and used the displays to put up Cubes. We have four Gamecubes running in our Best buy and no other systems. Its funny to see 007 running above playstation and metroid running above Xbox software.

Also everyone was being played on sunday when I was in the store. Way to go Best Buy

When I was a kid we didnt have fancy Nintendo videogames with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics sucked ass! Your guy was a little square! You had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens

It's called vendor of the month, every month companies bid for what you heard on the telephone and what will be in the store front ect.  How ever how the store is set up is not so determined by vendor of the month, that is depended on sales.  It fluchtuates at our store,  GBA in the back then GC, then PS2 and Xbox are in the front.

About time.  I still hate EB though.  They have put me through SO MUCH woe.   It took a few hours if not more to get them to accept a gift card of an affiliate (and that was only the start of a horrible night), the hunt for a GCN demo was horrible, and I hate putting up with their arsehole managers.
