Tablet PCs are around $700 for a cheap one, and broken laptops with working screens can be around $200, used DS Phat for roughly $70. Add in the cables and the time needed to figure that out... Geez.

Ha ha, cool.  Looks like the guy who made it updated the page and claims it cost $600 to make.  He got two screens from Ebay for $100 each, which seems kind of lucky...but what do I know?
