So do I add Krystal as speculation or not...she could easily just be an assist trophy, but could be playable...because I want more female characters I will speculate.

I doubt its a confirmation since Jigglypuff has been in two games already and he assumes she'll be in Brawl again, though considering she's a SSB veteran and a fan favorite I'll be surprised if she doesn't make it in.

Why would he have to assume anything?  He has recorded a com-link for each playable character., remember?.. =)

Not a playable character?

Actually, her chances of becoming part of the playable roster are high...  seeing as how she was included in Sakurai's poll AND ended up with a lot of votes.

She's in.  I'd bet money on it.

Time to take this thread in a completely different direction...

Although I still expect to see them as an AT, I had a great idea for the dynamics of a playable Ouendan/EBA.

Instead of having three characters who all perform the same move (like the Ice Climbers), imagine that you have three characters standing shoulder to shoulder and when a move is performed, they all perform a different action which still falls within the context of the move.

For example, When you Up smash, the left guy swings his fist up at an angle from the left, the middle guy thrusts his fists straight up, and the right guy swings his fist up from the right. The characters would work together to cover as much area as possible with each move, such as a down smash causing the left and right guys to leg sweep their respective sides while the center guy attacks the ground immediately below him.

Thus, as the characters are KOed individually, the area covered by the moveset would diminish (with the center character being the key character). I imagine they'd still jump and move in perfect sync, but they'd perform different functions in each move.

That'd be cool. An EBA representative would be cool even without any kind of "team" dynamic gimmick, though, simply by virtue of using dance moves as attacks

# Final Destination is now 100% completely confirmed.
# The ordering for character weight that was shown a few days ago lists the percentages that it takes to KO that character with Mario's Side Smash from the center of Final Destination.
# Wall Clinging is confirmed.
# Mario can be KO'd at 17% by a fully charged side smash from King Dedede. So from the characters we know, Dedede's fully charged Side Smash is the most powerful move in the game.
# The Pokemon Trainer's pokemon all get fatigued at about 2 minutes, even if you dont move them. They all show visible signs of fatigue: Charizard lowers his head and wings. Squirtle drops his front hands to the ground. Ivysaur's bulb withers.
# The Famitsu magazine confirms the starting roster is the 23 characters on the Dojo. (minus Snake and Sonic, and including Zero Suit Samus and Sheik)
# Once fatigued, a Pokemon becomes much slower.
# If you do an aerial dodge the precise moment before you are hit by an opponent, it will reverse the attack.
# The game allows you to access the rules menu directly from the character select screen.
# When Sheik attacks with certain items such as the Star Rod and Beam Sword, she swings upward twice with a single motion.
# The damage percentages were determined in training mode against a dummy CP and do not take DI in to account.
# Wario's bite can swallow and destroy items and projectiles thrown at him. Everytime he does this, he takes 6% damage.
# The magazine makes no mention of being able to start as Zero Suit Samus at the start of a match.

Here is the Character Info:
# The best three attacks listed for each character tell which attacks have the most knockback, and what percentage they can KO Mario from the center of Final Destination.
# All of the smashes listed are uncharged.

I was thinking...

In interviews and notices Nintendo keeps saying that the final number of characters is "impressive".

It could all be developer hype and be referring to how the starting roster is already bigger than Melee's, but I am starting to believe that there might be indeed more than 40 characters in Brawl.

Here's how I see it...

35: A basic and realistic number. Making characters is not easy, especially balanced and unique ones. Melee had to use clones in order to expand the roster. So even if they had nearly 3 years of development it still would've taken a while to make a huge roster. So 35 might be it...

40: A very good number and another realistic number. Sakurai could do it, and if he did he stopped right there.

45 and up: The impressive number. If Sakurai manages to go this far and the characters are balanced and unique, then it IS an impressive number.

Once again, it could all be hype talking. So in a few days we will see if the number is truly impressive.

I think the trick is not really in the raw number of characters, but if they manage to balance them well. For example, faster characters seemed to have a bit of an advantage in Melee (at least, that's what the tier-proponents seem to suggest - Fox, Falco, Sheik, etc.), while heavy characters were at a disadvantage.

What I mean to say, is that 35 unique, well-balanced characters would be super-impressive to me.

BnM, what do the percentages next to the attacks mean?  edit: NM, I can't read

I don't want 50 generic characters.  I want each character to feel unique and have their own play style and strategy.  That is important to be impressive also.  You can have a 100 fighter game, but if they as all basically Ken/Ryu/Sakura/Sagot/Dan/Akuma...then well the game gets boring fast.

But, I think 40 is doable, and Smash Bros.  is one of the few games that really allows you to create really odd and unique character ideas...just look at Ice Climbers, and Olimar.
