At least you have freelance work.
in january i was laid off from the nintendo world store cuz i was only a seasonal employee and gave the only part-time position they had to the cousin of another part-time employee. This guy was seasonal too and only worked 3 days a week while me and the others worked at least 5 days, and he was such a suck up. He didn't deserve to stay on past the holidays.
anyway after that i had no luck finding work until a friend helped me get overnight work at a target but that wasn't until the end of april.
i was only there two weeks cuz i had gotten a call from an employer who found my resume on monster.com. He “interviewed” me, which basically was me coming in and him telling me what i'd be doing and how much i'd be paid. he basically gave me the job on the spot and i started the next monday. The hours were better, it was much closes to home and he paid exactly what Target was paying me so i went to work for him and just stopped going to target.
i worked there for all of may. It was an appliance parts store, a national chain but not a huge one. I got fired because i missed two days of work. The first day was at the end of my first week: my tire blew out on the highway on the way to work and i was stuck across town at the towing place trying to get a hold of anyone that could lend me money to get my car out of there and replace the tire. The second time was when i suffered a pretty bad asthma attack one morning and spent the day at home on an old inhalator barely able to breathe on my own, because i don't have the insurance to in to a hospital. I never had a chance to call him so when i got back to work he flew off the handle and yelled at me for “fu**ing around” with him and wasting his time. I wasn't in the mood so i argued back and it ended with him firing me.
Haven't had a job since
