Peach's character is sexist enough, they don't need to throw more fuel on the fire.

I don't know about that, she's capable of fighting now I would say it was more sexist when she was just the damsel in distress.

Well her moves involve hiding behind a man and gardening...
Mood swings would have been welcome among them.

HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!

... Gardening is MANLY! What could be more manly than moving around heaps of dirt and forcing life to exist according to YOUR rules and patterns? What could be more masculine than lording it over a domain, everything arrayed just as you decree, everything fed only by your say-so? Besides! Miyamoto gardens!

Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

That is so messed up.

I'm guessing that this knocks people out longer than, say, a Pokemon move, so you can hopefully do a considerable amount of damage before people start waking up.

It would have been better if Peach would have eyes.

I thought that at first too, but then I realized her pupils just turned yellow. It's the same "fire in their eyes" effect that all the characters get when they final smash, but it looks stranger on her for some reason.

Peaches smash itself isnt that powerul, but I could see it being devestating if used correctly.  Imagine if she used her smash then picked up a home run bat!

I was thinking the very same thing...

Also, you have to consider the balance between offensive and defensive (Peach having the ability to heal herself with her Final Smash...)

Toadstool was Peach's butchered localized name, like Dr. Robotnik. They changed it to Toadstool to match the Mushroom Kingdom motif.

I heard they were afraid people were going to say "hey, the mushrooms are ruled by humans? That's apartheid!" So they changed her name so it sounded like she was some kind of mushroom creature.

I don't think it's canon, but I treat the English names as last names; King Bowser Koopa and Princess Peach Toadstool. That makes the most sense to me.

Yeah, that. It also leaves the possibility that "Princess Toadstool" is her title, rather than her name. Whatever.

I'm pretty sure that was a choice by the translation team as well.  They used both names.  I think in Super Mario RPG when Peach is eaten by Belome he says "Tastes Peachy" or something to that effect.

I wasn't submitting that as evidence or anything, it just sprung into my mind and I felt like typing it out.

I always like how she said "Peach!" at the end. In Mario 64 . . .

But Dr. Robotnik is a better name then Toadstool.  Though I always thought that with Dr. Robotnik it was Dr. Eggman Robotnik because when we first started getting him called Eggman it didn't include the Doctor portion until later.

Mario's stage just got even cooler...

Now, has anyone heard what DK's Final Smash is? Still waiting for that to be mentioned somewhere...

Wow, my brain's just not working today. I meant Ike... but I have no idea why I typed DK out (there is a k in both of them I gues... *runs off*).

Although, in that vein, I would like to see a video of DK's final smash in action.

Ike is apparently pronounced "ee-kay," which rhymes with DK. Ha.
