SEGA NAMES DARRIN STUBBINGTON VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCTION AT SECRET LEVEL

Industry Veteran to Help Oversee SEGA’s Growing Internal Development Studio

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (August 2, 2007) – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd. announced today that Darrin Stubbington has joined the team at Secret Level as vice president of production, bringing with him 20 years of experience in developing games and managing development teams. Since SEGA acquired Secret Level in 2006 the studio has doubled in size from 50 employees to over 100 today.

In his new role, Stubbington will oversee Secret Level’s teams of development directors, title producers, artists and engineers that are currently creating SEGA’s highly anticipated titles Iron Man and Golden Axe.

"Darrin’s long list of accomplishments includes building both critically-acclaimed title franchises and respected development studios from the ground up," said Simon Jeffery, president of SEGA of America and head of product development for America and Europe. “We knew he’d be perfect for the job of leading our production efforts at Secret Level."

The hire underscores SEGA’s commitment to creating Western-specific content by growing talented internal teams to build quality games for current and next-generation hardware platforms. The strategic balance between internal development teams like Secret Level, and external development partnerships such as the recently announced Sonic The Hedgehog Nintendo DS â„¢ title being developed by BioWare, will help SEGA reach its goal of becoming a top five third-party publisher. According to The NPD Group, SEGA of America ranked number six among third-party software publishers in market share by units through June of 2007.

â€œOur development teams are full of smart people using cutting-edge technology," said Stubbington.  â€œThe SEGA corporate philosophy is one of all teams sharing resources and knowledge to help the entire organization build better games, which is exactly the type of environment I want to work in and lead at Secret Level."

Stubbington began his 20-year career as a programmer and has since held vice president positions at Iguana Entertainment, Acclaim Studios and Midway Entertainment.  He previously worked as executive producer at Electronic Arts where he managed the staff developing the NCAA Football franchise.
