I'm really happy to hear Miyamoto hasn't losst his taste for more true gamer games.

I'm even happier to hear he is working on Galaxy even more so than he worked on Mario 64.

Great stuff...It's particularly interesting to know that Miyamoto is more hands-on with Mario Galaxy than he was with Mario 64...

And HOPEFULLY this calms down people who constantly tard up threads complaining that Nintendo only cares about non-games...(You people know who you are...)

I do wonder, however, just how soon is soon when it comes to Zelda info... (probably next E3)

Oh my goodness. Seriously?

That's unbelievable, and unbelievably incredible! Best news of E3.

EDIT: Ha! See Kairon? I thought you prided yourself in knowing exactly what parts of a game Miyamoto worked on.. and yet you still didn't get Galaxy.. for shame.

There's no way I can't buy this now. (as if I wasn't going to before)

I think the conversation shifted to Galaxy on that question, UncleBob.

Yes, I think Wii Fit is being made at EAD in Kyoto.  I know for a fact that Super Mario Galaxy is being made at the new Tokyo studio (their only previous game is DKJB).

It is pretty thrilling to read that Miyamoto has a bigger hand in Mario Galaxy than Mario 64! It has been a long time since we really got a game that Miyamoto was so directly involved in, especially a classic franchise like Mario!

Well I will have you know Shyguy that my mom is an immortal. She is doomed to wander the earth forever and it is a very touchy subject for her. THANKS A LOT for bringing it up.

What a jerk.

I completely agree. That's one thing I dislike a lot about Nintendo's promotion of new games. They seem to be quite willing to sh*t on their older games just to make the upcoming ones look better. Now that Sunshine is history, he didn't mind completely overlooking it, even thought it was a brilliant game..

I think this is an NOA thing, though. I've seen it before in some of their other conferences.. I don't think Miyamoto and co would be too happy about it though.

EDIT: And wait a second.. here's the full quote
Quote

On Super Mario 64 he was the main director, on Super Mario Galaxy he is involved with game design, so he's essentially more involved with Super Mario Galaxy than on Super Mario 64.

The game is being developed in Tokyo, but Miyamoto has gone to check the game several times. Eventually, Nintendo set up a network so Miyamoto could get the games and teleconference in his office for meetings to make it more convenient.
Reading it in context doesn't make it seem like he has as much control. Being a "main director" seems obviously more involving than "checking the game several times"..

Do you think they mixed up 64 with Galaxy on the "more involved" part?

See I agree with his statement. I saw Super Mario Sunshine as more of "sequel" to Mario 64 not a successor. It would be similar to saying "Wind Waker is the true successor to OoT".

I don't have a problem with the statement I think it's very true.

I think you are right, while TP would be more as a sequel.
