The April issue of NGamer is supposed to have Red Steel 2 info. It should be on newsstands now. Please thumb through a copy for me pretty please with cream and sugar and Weetabixs on top?

We remember how the first game was presented (mag), and how it subsequently TURNED OUT.

If you download the table of contents PDF on the nintendopower.com website you can see the character art. Looks sort of like a future western type of thing in a way.

I just finished The Drawing of the Three (second book in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King) so that art looks particularly badass to me. Huge Roland vibes (except for the katana, but eh). Here's to hoping the game doesn't suck!

It's nice to see an actual character design. The original game's best effort was those tattooed guys, only because they looked a little less like guys in suits.

I've been thinking about this game recently and I think it has the potential to be amazing but I'm worried that Ubisoft won't give it the attention and resources it deserves.

If by some small chance Ubisoft gave this game the development it deserves it will blow The Conduit out of the water. It's not nearly as generic, I'd assume it'll have split-screen like the first one, and it has a legitimate reason to be on the Wii as 1:1 sword fighting isn't possible anywhere else.

Then why do other sites do it? We've posted scans from famitsu and other mags from Japan before. Or is it a US legal matter?

Cuz they think they can get away with it.

Publishers have sent quit-it notifications to PGC in the past, I believe.
Tho the shape publishers are in these days, can't be bothered to make threats.

Oh yeah....

Analysis.

- Western theme obviously, it actually makes more sense with the odd fantasy settings of the discarded RS2 concept art. It had mine carts and such.
- The metal decals on his coat look like circuit traces which implies a futuristic setting. Could be something else though.
- Protagonist is a male with dark hair and mid-to-light colored skin.
- I can't tell what pistol he is carrying but it looks modeled after a Colt Patterson revolver, maybe a Remington service revolver?

I'm speculating here, but the first Red Steel was about an American traveling to Japan and kicking butt. This time it's an Asian man traveling to America and kicking butt. Very deep, very Zen.
